Just curious

Hello growmies, long time smoker first time grower. I’m about to harvest my plant and started to trim some hand leaves off before 2-3 days of darkness. I discovered this leaf, it has a bud growing in it. I didn’t think that was possible. I’m sure there’s a simple explanation, I’d just like to hear it. Thanks in advance

is this a gg4 variety? 3rd grow I've seen since coming back with a leaf bud! Seems to be a genetic mutation but nothing harmful.

It’s blackberry moon rocks by Anesia seeds (or something like that). I did have one single grow issue with this plant. This is my first “successful grow” and couldn’t be more thrilled with the plants ease of grow, size of plant and buds, super rock hard and sticky. So glad it’s nothing to worry about, thanks

Yeah it’s nothing to worry about. On a side note I would let that plant go for at least a couple more weeks if not another month. And the darkness before harvest is bro science just keep growing as normal till it’s ready to chop. The most weight will be gained in the last couple of weeks so don’t rush the harvest just let it grow. Great job on making it this far you’re doing good. Every grow will get better and better.

Couple more weeks? The tris are about 20% amber. I have one drying that I did try in darkness for two day. Not dry yet so I can’t call BS on the science yet. Although It did make the buds a lil more sticky.

No need to look at the trichomes, I haven't looked at trichomes in years lol. What I try to tell people is you know what good weed looks like in a bag right? Imagine that but with the sugar leaves leaves still on it and that's how it should look when you chop.

That I do! Lol. I’m sure you’re an experienced grower, and you have that “growers eye” . I’ll let her go a little while longer. It’s Dwc and I’ve already started flushing with straight PH water two days ago. Leaves are still green and shiny. You think she can go longer without nutrients? It won’t “shock” it? Or reverse anything will it? As my screen name says I’m a Newb at this.

I wouldn't flush it, the general consensus among most growers is that flushing isn't necessary. If the plant isn't ready to harvest it's still growing and swelling, it needs food to do that, if it relies on its own food stored in the leaves and such the yield will be impacted.

Great. Like I said, 2 days into flush. I do appreciate the help and info. I was going by everything I’ve read, and I did a lot of reading. But there are books that teach you how to raise children, but at the end of the day experience is what prevails. Thanks again

Yeah I normally go by the pistils when they change color and start receding back into the buds but probably best to combine both methods. You will never see a plant left to go too long. Both flushing and the darkness are BS just feed them right to the chop although you can reduce the amount of feed as they come to the end. Also everyone starts out going by what they read and there is so much contradictory info out there but you will learn as you go.

I added some nutrients, the leaves were just starting to show nute deficiency so hopefully that’ll catch them back up.
Totally agree on information vs experience. Still a lot of learning to do on my end. These grow blogs are excellent. I’ve always asked lots of questions when trying to learn something, you can’t ask questions to articles. Well I guess you can but usually you don’t get a response lol. Thanks!
