Heat capture reuse

Its common for HID growers to vent though their house in winter for heating. Im wondering now that bar style LEDS are coming with detachable drivers im wondering if anyone has tried to use them as a heat source away from the grow area.
Water proof claim probably just means "exposure to mostiour wont fry it" but not "it will opperate while submerged" but sue vide heater was the first idea to come to mind

I don’t think the driver will provide enough heat to heat much of an area and yes they are not submergible. It’s best to use a small space heater on an ink-bird so you can keep the temps dialed in.

In my exp in the winter, using led, bar or qb produce enough heat to make you need temp control in a closed 20x20 room. I use an ac all year around. You should have heat 2 steal. The question is how big of a space are you trying to heat?

Wow a 20x20 must have some serious lights in there. I have a 4x4 and use a heater when lights are off to keep my temp up

Mostly fishing to see if anyone has done something cool with theirs yet. Just really like the idea of "this is neccisary but detramental to my grow but valuble and usefull elswhere" "this is a "free" energy source how can i use it"
How hot dose yours get? Could i put it under a reptials basking rock to replace heat lamp or will the whole gerarium bake to 150f
Will it get hot enough at least for some foods to use as a sue vide heater if i made a snorkle box for it? At a bare minimum one should be able to box it and force vent it to make a mini air dryer.

I personally wouldn't box up or block air flow to a driver . You'd possibly cause the driver to fail . Could be a net loss all around . JMO .

Makes sense, so snorkle box is a no and using as a hot plate in anyway is a no. But a forced air camber with a good design and proper fan should have better air tansferance then an open room, making for better cooling and sheildng from outside dust, pollon and the like.
I use the pannel of my lights to boil my bho sometimes, dont put the container dirctly on the driver or heat sink just on an open space of the back casing. It was holding right about 100f on my MH TS1000 so it worked out damn near perfect
