I didn't think they would be here til next week. But alas, another job half (assed) done....He only had 260 gallons, and I ordered 400. I swear they do that shit on purpose, because prices are low right now. They obviously don't know me, but they soon will  :p I have been through sooo many propane companies. They are thieves!!

I just got done working at a bunch of propane places.
They were short on drivers, still try to cover all the same places, so they short everyone to make less truck refill trips during the day.

Yep, that sounds about right. I said to the guy, so when will you be back? He told me "This will get you through the summer". I said yeah, but I ordered 400 g's and I want the cheaper price. He said "call them"....Yes, I will !!

I better go mow the lawn before the rain starts. This is stuck in my head but more like.....Mowin the lawn! Mowin the lawn!
You reminded me....I better get moving too. Rain soon...

... I bought some of my best pot and acid from hippies picking us up hitchhiking ...
I won't pick up hikers again. Let's jump in the Way Back Machine to early April 1983 near the town of Jackson, MI. This one spooked me even more than getting accidentally lost on Gratiot Blvd. in downtown Detroit.

I was heading to Kenosha, WI ( Mrs. Starecase lived there before we were married ... ) and one evening, I picked up a hiker just west of Jackson on I-94. My route, as usual, was to peel north (west) on I-94 just passed the Indiana/Illinois state line then proceed through the Dan Ryan & Edens Expressway to US-41 through northern Illinois into WI.

The young lad, about 23 years old as I was at the time, claimed to be headed to Denver, CO. I knew that I-80 would get him there so I told him that I could take him to the I-94, I-294 and I-80 split in Chicago and that he could continue west alone I-80 into CO while I continued to WI. All good so he hopped in and westward we went. No issues as we crossed the IN/IL state line.

"There's the Torrence Ave exit ... your exit is next" I mentioned.

So we arrived at the meeting of those three Interstate highways and I pulled over to the shoulder to let the guy out. One problem - he didn't get out. He tried to convince me to proceed to Denver with him ... again and again and again ... with each attempt getting a little more hostile. I would politely say no and that people were expecting me in about 2 hours. Eventually I just stopped responding all together. I can only assume it was because I was now just ignoring him completely, but he eventually opened the door and got out. I threw that Dodge Mirada into D really fast and I was gone along I-94 as fast as that Chrysler Slant 6 could take me. Yes, the heart was pounding like fuck at that time.

I looked in the rear view mirror and his eyes never left my car until he was completely out of sight. Yes, the heart is pounding now like it pounded then. No idea what his intentions were and didn't want to find out.

Not long after that incident, I started to notice highway signs along I-94 through the Jackson Area - PRISON AREA - DO NOT PICK UP HITCH HIKERS.

So natch, I have not stopped for a hitch hiker since.

... Lunch today included a $250 ticket for parking in a fire route. Didn't even see the sign. WTF is a fire route? No fire hydrants or fire station... just stick up a sign so they can jack up tickets ...
A fire route is any roadway that the Municipalities Fire Chief designates as such because the route could potentially have a fire vehicle travelling on them. That can be any road. So yes, they can stick a sign there, you won't see it and cha-ching.

Worth it to fight in court?

Lame. Probably not worth the effort. Once they see how many parking tickets I get they'll never give me a break... it always costs me like $2k to renew my license because of parking tickets and 407 fees.

Every dwelling in Ontario is technically a candidate to burn - so every road in Ontario is technically a fire route. So yeah ... lame AF!! And you are not gonna get any sympathies from Da Judge with that kind of precedence. Doubtful that any member of the courts would even reduce that ticket let alone toss it out.

Ah yes, the 407 - our "Garage Sale" expressway.

I have to get another transponder. We only have one and I always end up getting nailed for $4.20 per trip on top of the tolls.
