India did not fight the Nazis.
They were not a nation at the time.
The British Empire is a count of 1 in this matter.

Looking at Europe, the only nations not to fight the Nazis were Iceland, Ireland, Portugal, Italy, Switzerland, Austria, Czechoslovakia and of course Germany.

That leaves as European nations who did fight:

Spain (Republican)
France
Britain w/Imperial possessions
Netherlands
Belgium
Luxembourg
Denmark
Norway
Sweden
Finland
Soviet Russia incl. Baltic republics, Belarus, Ukraine
Greece
Romania
Bulgaria
Yugoslavia
Poland
Turkey

So “most”, no.

Over 87,000 Indian troops, and 3 million civilians died in World War II.- They fought and suffered.
Spain collaborated with Nazi Germany. Had a fascist gov after.
France fought and suffered and no fascist gov since.
England fought and suffered and no fascst gov since
Netherlands were supporters of Nazis as we have covered
Belgium. Good old Neutral Belgium. They should of learnt the first time about being neutral. Belgian historians have concluded that they actively collaborated with the Nazis The state even went beyond German demands at the time.
Switzerland. Switzerland profiteered greatly by the Nazies and didnt fight them.

I could go on but you even have Axis countries on your list like Romania.

Lets face it Europe loves a good fascist gov.

Spain went fascist due to the direct interference of the Nazis, thus my parenthetical. Remember Guernica.

India was not a sovereign nation, Wiki entry notwithstanding.

Netherlands were invaded by the Germans.

Most European national entities who were not subsumed like Austria and Czechoslovakia initially resisted the Nazis.

India was and is still a country. Indians fought and suffered and have not had a fascist gov since.
Netherlands was neutral, they got invaded and surrendered after only 5 days. They willing gave up their jews, more so than France and Belgium. They didn't really fight and they didn't really suffer(unless they were Jewish or a homosexual of cause). 10% of the population were Nazi party members. They provided substantial economic support to the nazis

India was a colony.
As was Australia, America, Canada- lots of countries that fought and suffered.

How old is India as a country?
India: 2500 BC

You would be surprised to know that the Indian subcontinent has been flourishing for around 5,000-6,000 years and its peoples joined together to form a civilization in roughly 1500 BCE when they created the Vedic Civilization, which laid out the foundations of Hinduism.14 Jan 2021

Will also be number two Super power in another 50 years.

My grand farther had great respect for the Gurkhas who he fought alongside in WW1.

Haven’t we wrangled about this before, country/nation?

Iirc the final criterion was national entity y/n.
During the interval that applies, India was not a nation. Their sovereign wasn’t even on the same continent.

So “country” in this instance is something I consider to be a bit of jesuitry.

Then just worry about the people.
The people Of India, or whatever you want to call the land mass of India, fought and died (in great numbers) and suffered. As my point they havent had a fasist gov since.

I recognize that they fought and died, not only against the fascists but also against the empire to their east.

For bookkeeping cleanliness, I count them as subjects of the Crown.

As were Australians at the time. Who also faught and died (in great numbers) and suffered and have not had a fascist gov since.

The Indian Army during World War II, a British force also referred to as the British Indian Army,[1] began the war, in 1939, numbering just under 200,000 men.[2] By the end of the war, it had become the largest volunteer army in history, rising to over 2.5 million men in August 1945.[2][3] Serving in divisions of infantry, armour and a fledgling airborne force, they fought on three continents in Africa, Europe and Asia

One million Australians, both men and women, served in the Second World War – 500,000 overseas. They fought in campaigns against Germany and Italy in Europe, the Mediterranean and North Africa, as well as against Japan in south-east Asia and the Pacific.
Australia lost 34,000 service personnel during World War II. Total battle casualties were 72,814. Over 31,000 Australian became prisoners-of-war. Of these more than 22,000 were captured by the Japanese; by August 1945 over one third of them had died in the appalling conditions of the prisoner-of-war camps.

You made me look it up! I didn’t know that Australia did not achieve sovereign nation status ‘til after the war. Live and learn.

Even Canada didn't become independent till well after the war. They fought and suffered and have not had a Fascist gov since.

The history of Canada during World War II begins with the German invasion of Poland on 1 September 1939. While the Canadian Armed Forces were eventually active in nearly every theatre of war, most combat was centred in Italy,[1] Northwestern Europe,[2] and the North Atlantic. In all, some 1.1 million Canadians served in the Canadian Army, Royal Canadian Navy, Royal Canadian Air Force, out of a population that as of the 1941 Census had 11,506,655 people, and in forces across the empire, with approximately 42,000 killed and another 55,000 wounded.
