24/0 Budding

I was wondering if anyone had tried Flowering
with 24/0 light schedule for say the last 5-3 or so days of
Flowering??
My friend had said he tried it with success.
I was thinking that you might be able to increase THC potency
by doing something like this.
You would definetly stress the plant, but the last few days
your gonna cut it down anyway.
My friend also mentioned there was increased resin production
sorta makes sense. The plants trying to protect it's self from all the light.

I have seen posts and articles on this and I think your friend may be right or on the right track. It is obviously way too far into flowering to revert back to veg. so it could do some good. I'm gonna watch this too to see if anyone has any more info on this, good post..

I dont think it produces resin to protect from light, it likes light, I think it produces resin to protect from pest damage. Maybe beat the shit out of the plant a few days in a row right before harvest, rip a few leaves off here and there, violently. Kick it, talk about its mother. I also heard playing Metallicas new CD makes them produce lots of Resin, Hammet hasn't shredded like that in years.

we was also saying that the Trichomes turn a darker color
because of all the light the Trichomes become more tinted.

If THC is produced during photosynthesis then it would make sense to put it under more light for the end of the flowering cycle. I hope it works out for you and keep us up on how it works.

please someone pm me when they find out something good.. i heard the complete opposite though.. i heard the last 1 or 2 days leave the lights off and the plant gives it all it gots cause the lights arent there which would give more thc...anyone ever heard bout that?

yeah, alot of people do 24 hours of darkness before they chop because it supposedly increases resin production. but theres always naysayers whenever a new technique is talked about, or even an old technique thats considered a myth really because nobody has proven or disproven the technique.

I mean, ive heard from one of my pop's buddies that if you drill a hole in the trunk of the plant like 2 days before chop, and put a stick inside the hole, 2 days later you wont be able to move the stick let alone take it back out of the hole, and its supposed to cover the plant in resin because it goes into defense mode and is trying to protect itself from the harsh weather or conditions that cause a hole in there trunk. But like i said, nobody has proven this to be right on, but nobody i know has tried it to disprove it, so it remains a myth.

But the 24 hours of dark seems plauseable, just like the couple days of 24/0 seems plauseable too.

-- What if you were to combine the two methods together? like, for the last 4 days before chop or 5 days, you go 24/0. n then the last day before the chop, go 0/24 . Maybe that would confuse the shit out of the plant, n just force her to give up the fight, and give up all her resin reserves for the greater good of stoners everywhere, lol.

THAT would be an interesting experiment. I have a plant growin out in a 20 oz cup right now thats still the size of a seedling, but has 2 nodes already. Im gonna veg for another week or two, n then flower. But maybe ill try doing something like this as an experiment on the little gal. Im only growin her for gits n shiggles anyway man.

There is some truth to this. Marijuana produces resin to protect the leaves from drying out, and increased heat is definitely a product of increased light.

My experience and understanding has been that you shouldn't mist your plants in their last few weeks for this reason, and because lack of foilar feeding forces the plant to push more internal nutrients towards the leaves and buds, in turn supplying more nutrients to the buds and creating a higher concentration of THC.

I do not know anything about 24/0 lights during flower, though, but it doesn't sound like a terrible logic path.

I've got 4-6 weeks to go. I'm gonna try that.

i got about 6 weeks to go with my current batch too man. But i aint gonna risk hermie action with these babies - thats why im gonna do it with my 20 oz plant, cuz theres less to fuck up that way, lol. I put way too much work n love into this batch this time to have some random balls show up n bomb pollen all over my calyxes man. Id be hurt man. really hurt...

Takes about 4-6 weeks for a plant to revert back to full veg mode. I would think it wouldnt hurt to up the hours to 13 on 11 off in the last two weeks, but that only works if you are batch growing. I always have plants in my flowering tent that are at different weeks of flowering so its 12/12 all the way for me.

Well I aint no friggin botanologist lol, but from experience actually growin and smokin my own, I say the way you get weed with more THC IS TO STRESS THAT BABY OUT TO ITS LIMITS. If you transplant and it goes into shock, after it revives the weed will be 2 times stonier. And if you keep transplanting and putting into shock it will get better every time it revives. I experimented with sum plants trying different methods and comparing to the same genetic plant that was just grown normally. I also got stonier weed from experimenting with tieing down plants in different directions during growth. The plants that I didnt do anything to grew much larger and faster but the stoniness of the stressed out plants was much better.

I gunna do this on my white widow grow under the hps at 3 weeks and on the ak at end of budding. I did this to my bubblelicious, kinda, i pinched it hard enough to pierce through the other side and cause a similar effect where there was a hole in the middle of the stem and it healed over.....i have a picture somewhere i will find it.
