Oscillating Tower Fan question.

I finally got one, not cheap but everyone here suggested it. Going to toss my hurricanes.

Now, any suggestions on setup in a 4x4 tent. Back left/right corner? Right in the middle of back o'tent?

When do I turn it on, when seedlings first pop up, or wait until day 7?

Guess I'll need to Gorilla tape all the lights/indicators.

I'd just go for a far corner close yourself inside with a vape, bong or joint and make sure it's circulating the entire tent. Even if you spray some mist you should be able to see the patterns and the turbulence etc

I have seen people use chain, zip ties, the ratcheting clips we use for lights, and several other diy options.. you can't see how they hung it but below is a picture of what I'm thinking.. It then moves the air over the top of the canopy.. I would still keep my smaller tornado fan circulating air under the canopy but that takes very little space.. I'm pretty sure another member on here has theirs hanging also but I don't recall who

every time i have used a tower fan its never really lasted that long, so i just use basic fans without led lights hope yours lasts longer than my three did
they just turn off randomly drives me nuts im over the expensive fans

that one does look like the shizz tho

very nice! have you tried bringing them down to right above the canopy and blowing across it instead of just down the side?

a 6"" inline duct fan placed on floor facing with draught going up and 2 oscillating fans dose same thing with out all diy and cost, the upright fan breaks cyclone effect of oscillating fans and spreads it evenly, just an other diy solution that works for some, i have 2x2x1 and have 2 up facing fans 2 oscillating and 2 intake and 2 outtake threw hps cool tubes and works well, but if bought think the way picture has it done looks good, happy growing dude

damn that must be like a wind tunnel in there! awesome to see what others are using

I have one 4" outtake, outside the tent, one oscillating tower fan in a corner blowing on the tent not plants and one stationary on the floor also blowing on the tent wall not the plants.

Wait, you don't let it oscillate & blow on your plants?

No I haven’t. I was trying to maximize my canopy space. My plants basically touch all the walls so I don’t want any fans limiting how much I can fit in there.

Also if I dropped the fans next to the canopy I would block some of my light from bouncing off the walls.

below the canopy I have 3 different fans in various locations to circulate the air.

blowing on the plants gives them strength , makes them more sturdy for when they flower , bouncing off wall is fine for drying but plants need a breeze to hit them to stimulate them, but everyone grows different i suppose that's the point of forums to swap ideas and advice, happy growing dude

reason for so many fans using 2 1000 watt hps takes alot of wind threw the tent to keep temp down and plants at ideal temp, plus with carbon filter on takes alot more suck, i vent threw cooltubes then outside

I'd set it wherever you get the best coverage from one end of the oscillation to the other. I have mine in the back middle of the tent because that's the only place it fits with my setup. It covers the front 3/4 of the tent, but along the back wall it's lacking. Oh well, it's the best I can get at the moment. It would probably be better in the corner but I just don't have room. I also have it set on a small platform so the column of air extends from the soil level to roughly the tops of the plants (depending on how tall they get), then I have a couple fixed fans circulating the air above the tops.

IMO, oscillating tower fans are better than having multiple fixed fans. You don't have spots that are constantly getting bombarded by wind, and you reduce the number of "dead spots" where little to no breeze gets.

The one complaint I have about mine is that if I lose power, it doesn't automatically turn back on when the power comes back. My last one had a rotary knob for speed and a mechanical switch to turn the oscillation on and off, so when power came back on it was set the same way as before. The oscillation motor on that one eventually died, and the new one I got has soft buttons and a remote control, which is what it looks like yours has. Just something to keep in mind...

These plants need off on wind to strengthen the stems. from sprout on thru life. no constant wind though thats bad. lowest setting. they like wind but not enough to make the bend. Make it happen or problems are gonna happen. If it takes some space so be it......get er done
