big light, small closet

the biggest closet in my new apartment is 3x2. So im putting in 6 12" pots with fem seeds. I flower at 1ft and cut at 3. Above them i want to hang a 1000hps. My question is what kind yield can i expect?
-i have an ezhood and 424cfm fan to keep it cool

u have a good light some good circulation in there with the fan...how tall is the closet? and i recomend putting white trashbags on the walls for reflection and cleaness

u should expect an alright yeild not the best but good for an indoor setup probably like 200 grams depending on the strain and how you take care of it..you really cant tell until harvest. just read up alot

good yield can be expected, make sure you keep the temp cool though other wise might be a fire hazard. but yeah good yield

Good luck trying to keep that big light cool in that closet. Im in an apartment too but I have a 600w in a 4x4 tent and my AC still has to stay on all day long set to 70-75deg to keep the temp at 77deg in the tent.

I dont think u need a 1000w light in that small closet.Imo U could easily cool a 400w light in there with a 6" cool tube and 6" axil fan. The 6" axil fans are really cheap $60 and the cool tube with reflector are about $100.

Plus being in an apartment u cant cut hoes in the ceiling of the closet to vent allof the hot air out. Cutting holes in the walls of an apartment it never a good idea, unless u have a SPECIAL apartment that u can do this in, but IMO i wood go with a tent or a locker of sum sort to grow in. Thats why i had to get a 4x4 tent to do my grow. Plus u will have why more elbow room to grow. My tent cost me about $200 at Cheap hydroponics.com and i love it. Trying to vent that 100w light in ur apartment closet might be harder than i looks once u get it all pluged in.

Dont meen to screw up ur plains on ur grow op but growing in an apartment sucks and u have to look at it from all angles.

Unless there is a cool tube type vent system, you can expect to have fried plants. With that small of a closet you can get a much smaller light thats no bigger than 250w

Im going to drill holes in the door for ventilation. I hope i can get more then 200g, i would expect that from a 400hps and save $30 a month on electric. The grow tent isnt a bad idea, but its not very stealthy! I was considering converting the 2nd broom and im not cuz i want it stealthy so the tent is kinda out. I already have the ezhood and 424cfm inline fan so im not worried about temps.
The problem is i need a 400g harvest every 3 months, and i dont think this is achievable with a 400hps. Do you think it is with the 1000hps?

ive already had a couple of great grows with the 400hps, but ive never put a 1000watter in a 3x2 and need to know if it will work well enough. If not i need to seriously consider looking at more places, so if anyone has any exp or knowledge in this field it would realy help. This is a 1yr lease so i dont want to move in and realize 3 months in that its going to be a very hard year

I wood just keep using the 400/600w light. Anybody will tell u that a 1000w light in a 3x2x8 is a waste of money and u are going to have heat problems.

Save ur money, but its seems that u have ur made ur mind up allready. Cutting holes in the door defetts the purpose of being a stealth grow. Pluse u are going to have a crap load of 6" holes or bigger to vent that closet.

this wood be the only way to use a 1000w light in that closet and u dont even need to drill holes in ur door. It the stealthest way to grow ing a closed room but its will cost u sum $$$$ to get it going.

i took down my grow tent in 10 min for a surprise visit from the land lord. I hid eveything. It is the easy way to do an apt. the cleanest way so the stealthiest.

i love my tent, they are perfect. Also clostes were not made to be ventilated, they heat like ovens no matter how you work it, same with gathrooms, tents are an easy fix, an enviro you can control cheaply.

drilling holes in the door wont let enough air in... your 424 cfm fan will starve for air trying to pull it through drill holes in the door.... so it WONT move 424cfm... you would need a little bit of a larger intake, you may even have to go with an active intake - which would require a duct to come into the room, with a smaller fan than your exhaust, and it should probably bring fresh air... that being said, i would totally do a 1K in there if you already have it... i know everyone says you should only go 250watt, BUT mj looooves the light, I think the trichomes are a product of the plant adapting to higher light conditions... they basically work like little umbrellas that block the light from getting to the leaf of the plant...so if you can get it to make more of those, to protect itself from your 1k it would be ideal... the 1K may be too intense for them if you lower it right on them, i would build a screen about where you want the canopy to be - the screen ensures they do not cross a certain height, and you will want that if you put a 1k in there because they will get out of hand without it. That is about the only way you will ever pull 400g out of there... i doubt you could do it with a 400, you would have to have a perfectly dialed in system, and it would take longer than 3 months... 400g is a lot for a space that size...
