In House Genetics Thread

So I have a sterile temp controlled multi room converted house. Constantly upgrading trying to learn my setup is dialed in not even a pest in years. With growing you do not know everything and sometimes learn with new experiences as you go

FML I got something funky going on first time in 3-4 years logged on to look for help/information

Bought 5 packs of IHG 35 total seeds dropped 25 saved 2 beans each for another run. also popped 15 ethos 3 strains

Beans dropped in seed germ box and placed in dark room temps set 72 T 70 H

I float tech with water and have no issues for years this year tho I am baffled

14/15 ethos are thriving the other is recovering from a dropage

All 25 IHG Cherry crush SLuricane#7 Deep fried oreoz Plat Yoda plat scout v2 Popped nicely grew 1/4 tails in less then 24 hours almost every seed then 8 hours later all the IHG started to turn brown tips floating in the water ethos was money all white

I didnt like the look so I went into light soil and no i didnt over water them

Whats going on here bc i popped the other 10 ihg and the same thing happened to me but not the other 20 random freebies all thriving

its like the ihg seeds have a disease or something is that possible 35 dead seeds FML? anyone else?

Do you use any peroxide or anything to kill fungus when you do that float tech? If one of those seeds has some kind of bacteria on the shell it could theoretically infect everything in that water

Yes i do I forgot to add that seems to be only the in house beans

All of the Jellysickles that I've grown so far have had an awesome dark berry aroma and same goes with the flavor in my vaporizers, like a grape or dark berry flavor. really amazing and the high is fantastic, super happy with these genetics.

Here is update of what is going on one pic is 2 ethos cresendo other is 4 deep stuffed oreoz

I am super anal everything is sterile i have popped dozen of samples i will never pop and no other breeders beans is doing this

No matter what i do from here these will die

I did find one another forum someone said he has a clean room and found a problem with IHG seeds like a disease or some shit but it was super vague

I even did the last 10 IHG beans in a separate building sterilized everything wtf

I did find someone else with same issue on another forum but it didnt gain any traction and people just talk about herms

The first pack of Slurricane#7, I ran had these problems. Second pack, I did a light sanding along the seams of the seeds before soaking. Focus more along the rear seams to allow the shell to hinge open more.

Did you end up planting them or did they just die after this point?
There are some types of plants, like tomatoes, that can carry viruses on their seeds. Perhaps that might apply to cannabis as well???

They all died at various stages after figuring out what was going on i tried to run a few in paper towels to see if they would get bigger and have a better chance and a few right into soil

no other breeder or any of the samples i started poppin to get to duplicate would and they lived unless i killed off samples i dont run samples anymore

Its just the IHG seeds

Had nothing pop in water alone,
Tried sanding them a bit and used hydrogen peroxide only had 1 of 6 pop and turned out mutated so i tossed it.
kinda deciding on wether to pop 2 more or 2 pkbr to run out doors.

I am going with a different breeder he dont want to replace all the packs. It appears IHG could possibly be rushing things and making mistake So many herm and germ issues also

If every single bean in every pack does this 35 all dead and i could not be in house genetics it has to be me right?

Not the breeder with a million herm posts

I have sifted threw and plucked threw to find gems for years and keep my mouth shut bc random fire in these packs

This not IHG bash its and i make this up I was excited to hunt threw these packs :(

Cant buy this gear anymore

Literally, every pack on left side pops and dies off and all but one on right side for 4 different breeders and dozen of other samples killed as testers by me just to make sure its just the ihg beans and not a single issue

Sadly i had to place another order which will be here tmw bc i need more plants to hunt

Those la woman beans hard to find my friend why would you pop that just to compare, hopefully you kept a few

dna is pretty good at replacing beans too, i once got 2 packs of la confidential from attitude, a-couple didnt pop so i let them know and they told me to get up with dna, dna offered me merchandise as they dont ship to the us but they got up with the tude and resent my order free of charge so have a cople of connie beans. Dna’s support is the best ive had

Yeah I like them I found more keepers from them than anyone. And they have been the most stable

I Had to start checking all my in house genetics plants daily and have been able to save most just annoying

In house genetics loss i would have bought a few packs a year but he dont even answer customers
