Hunt for a Keeper or Two

I figure I’d throw this up for those interested in these beans and genetics. Vegging them, sexing them, tossing males, flowering out cuts. So, it’ll be about three months or so before they’re flowering. Genetics are as follows:

I’m pretty sure that’s everything. I’m going to pot them up this weekend or so. Finally bought a house and once I move in I can finally have indoor soil beds and keep it clean and simple. Have quite a few bags of BioBloom from Bio365 or whatever it’s called, so I’m just mixing some Coast of Maine Quoddy in there. Some top dressings, foliars, and water will keep them healthy and happy.

Moved them up into the bags they’ll stay in until sexed and cuts have been run. Fifty-four of them are filled with six cubic feet of BioBloom and four cubic feet of Quoddy from Coast of Maine. The rest are in Ocean Forest. Grow shop is a joke and tried charging too much, so I grabbed some Ocean Forest. No big deal. I had to toss the Sour Grapes unfortunately. They looked good, but I didn’t want to put another light up and they’re the easiest/cheapest beans to replace.

Easier for me to update on Sundays, so I’ll stick to Sundays from here on out. Nothing exciting. Just vegging along. Environment could be better, but I’d rather leave it a little cold and save the electricity and I don’t feel like running humidifier, dehumidifier, or fan until absolutely necessary. I’ll turn the fan on when it starts stinking and the dehumidifier if things get too crazy.

Seeing some sexing parts, males, are starting to show. Earliest picture I can find is from the 10th of little seedlings, so a little over three weeks. I’ll wait until the weekend to go through and pull some males.

Watered and pulled four males. Couldn’t find a loupe and honestly didn’t feel like checking them all today. Most likely I’ll flip them to flower sometime this week, let them all show, toss the males, and then put them back in veg. I really don’t want to wait for any late appearances and would like to clean up the bottoms for watering.

I’ll just leave them in veg. Most should be clearly showing this weekend, so I’ll go through them Saturday or Sunday. Closing on my house on the 18th of this month. Bring the females over on the 19th most likely. Then clones and flowering them out to see if I have anything good.

Lights out. Nightmare trying to close on this house and move. Tossed the Velvet Buzzsaw, Nigerian Rafiki, Orange Piff, and the freebies. Going to need smoke in a few months and don’t want to be rushed setting up grow stuff. I want to be able to control the temps and humidity in flower perfectly and have soil beds humming along before I run the hazy stuff.

Grapefruit Magoo plant or plants are putting off some nice smells and have nice structure. Blueberry plants look really nice. Orange Piff plants were monsters. Loving the looks of the Good Ol’ Days. Hoping for a female Lime Berry Mega. Chems are fine. A couple I’m liking the looks of. Still have some males in there yet to show I’m guessing. Hopefully get clones cut off them in two weeks or so.

Leaning towards tossing these plants after I take cuts. I really want to hunt some Puck and NLxHaze packs next. Crickets & Cicadas, Dynasty/Relic, Lucky Dog, and Top Dawg have everything I need smoke wise. Just hate having to spend so much on some darn seeds. All I need is a strong narcotic nighttime smoke (Puck/Skelly, NL1, etc.) and an electric up smoke (NL5xHaze, Mango Haze, SSH, etc.) to be set.

Closing on Thursday and starting the move on Friday now. Fun stuff. Low on funds and still need to buy a refrigerator and whatnot, so the plan is to take cuts around the beginning of June and then build two soil beds for two flower lights in a bedroom. Using 200 gallon pots since they’re a lot cheaper than the beds, but only putting 120 or so gallons in each. Probably won’t update much until then. Basic soil will be from Build-A-Soil recipe, but source the ingredients myself to save on shipping. Recipe is as follows:
-1 part pest moss
-1 part compost
-1 part rice hulls and pumice stones
-1/2 cup per cf kelp meal
-1/2 cup per cf neem cake
-1/2 cup per cf crustacean meal
-2 cups per cf basalt rock dust
-1 cup per cf oyster shell flour
-1 cup per cf gypsum
-5% charged biochar

I’ll throw some kashi blend on each once I’ve mixed them up. When I have some extra cash I’ll get everything needed to setup Blumats for each bed.

Actually going to try and keep these alive as mothers and find a keeper, because new seeds are too expensive for me for awhile unfortunately. Sad to say, but it’s the truth.
