Instead of relying on what your bro says, you can learn about the real science which Gregor Mendel worked out over 150 years ago. I learned it in high school but that's because I wasn't getting stoned beneath the bleachers during biology.

A quick check with the Punnett square reveals that each heterozygous gene has a 25% chance of coming up double recessive in each S1 seed. So how close to the mother an S1 is depends on how stable the mothers genetics are!

Personally, I love S1 seeds and pretty much only buy those now. If it was good enough to reverse and chuck then I want to try it.

Selfing is powerful genetic selection. You're much more likely to find elite level smoke in an S1 of an elite than the chucks made in the same run of seeds. Certainly more likely than with regular chucks made with a male chosen for its stem rub and frosty balls.

Also, certain crosses produce amazing offspring. The Bully Sticks is a great example. I liked half the progeny better than any of the tks1 I ran. The tks1 were some of the best s1 I’ve ever ran too. If someone reproduced the Legend Og x Chem 91 I would bet they’d find amazing plants in the seeds. I’m sure s1s are the same. The right strain s1’d might produce better progeny than a better smoking cut selfed. Perhaps one of the other ‘OG’s’ that wasn’t as good of smoke as tk could still produce better s1 seeds. I’m sure it would still have to be a good cut though. Garbage would most likely produce garbage s1 seed.

Yeah that makes sense. I would hope breeders are looking for expressions other than frost tho haha. I would highly recommend listening to your favorite breeders on the potcast. Whether your ideas align or stray from theirs, there is a lot to gain from listening to these guys talk. I think it will be a beautiful thing when science does merge with breeding, and certain phenotype expressions can be more easily pinpointed and selected for. Or strains bred for certain cannabanoid systems, cause everyone is a bit different.
S1's are great, I just wanted everyone to be aware that not every s1 seed will be a homerun, just like regular seeds

Yo you guys know if everything is okay with Nspecta or the CSIHUMBOLDT TEAM?! Only asking cause I order from them like twice a month and I’m in California a couple hours from their business spot.. long story short normally the whole transactions get completed within 5 days tops if not less from both ends… notice something odd this week tho. After sending payment Thursday they got it delivered Saturday.. normally it’ll get shipped by Monday or Tuesday and in my mailbox a couple days later by Thursdays Friday latest.. havent heard back from them this time so far.. also what made me want to check in if all was good or someone had an update..was that going in to this past weekend he posted on his IG that he was releasing some 91crosses.. I had been refreshing his site since the post hoping to catch the drop.. but it looks like it never happend also… other people on Ig also noticed the dropped he told us about never napped this time../yet?.. well hopped here to see if ya had anything of what might me going down ? Thanks !

My guess is that they have a lot of orders to pack considering people are getting wise to the discounts adding up to about $30 a pack. With his small team they are probably behind

As Spindle said they're busy/behind...I just recieved my last order after almost 2 weeks but well worth the wait. He released a bunch of those 91s but mentioned he'll be releasing others as well as older pks randomly leading up to 4/20, I know the feeling been checking daily for the "Gator bait" and a few others.
