It's a more energy efficient type of air conditioner.
I hope you find a good one that’s works well. I sure do hope you have a cool summer. I just finished reading a NY times article about the resurrection of the Tulare Lake and all the flooding in the Central Valley. They say once the snow melts the flooding is going to be of biblical proportions . the food normally grown in the area will be non existent. Food that supply’s the world . I think I read a 800 billion dollar loss. The lake will take years to go back down.

The reservoirs and river levels are managed in order to have room in the reservoirs to hold the snow runoff. The rivers in the southern valley don't have large reservoirs so their capacity is limited. There is always a possibility of rain and high temps in the area of greatest snowpack, however it has happened before and was handled. A lot of the levees in the southern area are managed by the landowners and not the state also. I'm in the north valley and not concerned.

I see some videos of the area between Bakersfield and Fresno that all the levees are busted. It sounds horrific!! They are even using their expensive large pickup trucks to block the levees, trying to stop the water.
At the Lake Bottom Brewery and Distillery in Corcoran — which finally was compelled to end its $3-a-pint drought-related “Pray for Rain” special — Fred Figueroa joked that he and his sons, who own the bar, were considering naming their latest beer “Two Chevys in a Levee.”
I remember driving down the highway in SanDiego with the signs pleading for us to conserve water, SAVE CALiForNia!! Now they should read, “USE as much water as you can, SAVE CALIFORNIA” how ironic.

Thanks! I live in the Mojave so we get very little rain in comparison to everyone else. So we usually see some pesky flash floods and then bake the rest of the year.

I finally got a spot in the parking lot thrift store. Man, this place is jumping , with good reason! I score some of the coolest shit here. The pick I came back for is Not wood after all.
I get outside to exam it closer and in the sunlight it appears Metal! What a score.
And what a relief it was still there !
When I looked up at where it had been perched on the high shelf , where I left it last I was shocked.
that spot was empty! I sware my heart broke a little and a feeling of emptiness filled my soul. I stood there kinda sad with my head lowered but when I Looked straight up in a different direction, there it was in all its glory. That’s where someone moved it. It must have been in someone’s hands but, like me, the hesitated.
It’s Jimi Hendrix Pick!
