Dignitaries from any country can speak to dignitaries from any other country, and you don't have any control over it.
Seeing every meeting as a direct threat is paranoid, to say the least. Obsessing over a small territory that has no interest in being integrated into your homogeneity is also not a particularly healthy behavior.
The world is offering you practically unlimited trade opportunities, if you would just quit trying the juvenile "faustian bargain" shit. The only people even slightly fooled by your belt and road initiative are those poor enough to need it as a way out.

One key concern brought up by Western security authorities in past years is that Huawei as a China-headquartered company is subject to Beijing's 2017 National Intelligence Law, which requires companies to "support, assist, and cooperate with national intelligence efforts" as well as "protect national intelligence work secrets they are aware of."

Asked how it handles legal requests from the Chinese government to hand over data, the spokesperson referred to the company's frequently asked questions page on the matter, which states: "Huawei has never received such a request and we would categorically refuse to comply if we did. Huawei is an independent company that works only to serve its customers. We would never compromise or harm any country, organization, or individual, especially when it comes to cybersecurity and user privacy protection."


I'd like to believe them...but i do not. One does not do business in a communist run country and "categorically refuse to comply" with their demands.
At the very least, they have full access to any and all information in the companies data, in ALL companies data, that operate from chinese territory.
I may have misunderstood when i read the original article about it, but as i recall, they don't have to ask, they can just take what they want, and don't even have to inform the companies that they are accessing or manipulating their data

Are there not watchdogs for these people's behavior? There sure as shit should be, if there aren't.

When Canada arrested the owner's daughter, he called up Xi and they held two Canadians as hostage in a shit prison, while she lived in a mansion in BC on bail. They even threatened them with the death penalty at one point, yer dealing with a criminal regime, no different than the one in Russia, except they appear more competent. We can do business with them but never become dependent economically on them, hence the chip foundries, battery and chemical plants along with new mines and on shoring. China's neighbors, the pacific tigers are gonna do quite well out of this as business move from China to other cheap labor markets.

I'm hoping the democrats win big in 24 and hold impeachment investigations with public hearings where they put certain justices on the hot seat and the FBI completes the vetting of others. Maybe Jack will go after her, but I doubt it, she is more a crazy fanatic and useful idiot for others than a criminal. I think Jack will have lots of work in congress, I have a great faith in desperate rats.
