As has been stated earlier in this thread and in others, I don't agree with the gun laws. You have to earn it. Get the background check, do the wait time, do the proper training.. then, you can own a gun. It's just like a drivers lic. You can't just go hop in a car at 15 years old and drive around (legally), AND you stand a pretty good chance of killing yourself or others.

It’s not unreasonable… I’ve been in situations where I’m glad I had one on me. Random road trip stop turns into a violent situation and your wife is inside the building while all hell is breaking loose outside. People are crazy… you never know, and I hope I don’t ever have to find out what it’s like to kill a man.
No shit. Just last week I was getting stay at home warnings. There was an active shooter in my area. They called numerous times saying my life was in danger. I was like little do they know, lol. Let's just say I was glad I was armed and ready to fuck some shit up if some idiot tried to come to my house. I slept like a baby even though they didn't catch him until the next morning.

Yeah, I don't know what when down after I grabbed Paige at that place in Clovis, but we got the hell out of there. I felt better knowing I had a finger on the trigger behind the door of this crackhead 3 ft from me... I could see his gat imprint in his pocket, so, I had the upper hand if he got stupid.

I'm not here to say you shouldn't own a gun. I am simply calling bullshit on the idea that guns make people safer.

Even in the rare times a gun is used in self defense, most often the defender is the one who gets hurt or the defender commits a a gun crime or the defender used the gun unnecessarily. Its very rare for a gun to be used appropriately and successfully in self defense. That is a fact.

I don't know your situation but I do know that 155 million others like me go about freely, without fear and don't feel the need to carry a gun for self defense. Your argument is witless and simply not true.

I don't think I've heard that story yet. Glad you guys got out safe. Guns are for more than just protection too. I've loved target shooting since I was a kindergartner. Hunting's another great reason to own them. I'll never go hungry even if the stores go empty, :bigjoint:

Too young for a driver's licence at 15, Evelina Christiansen is already cruising in a sleek BMW in #Sweden,

I agree with some of that... my guns have been sitting here my whole life and they never killed anyone or hurt me. It's not the guns, it's the people. Hell, you can kill someone a lot quicker, and quietly by taking a 4 ft zip tie, make a loop, sneak up behind someone, slip it over thier head to the neck and pull hard, then walk away... no noise, no shell casings,

It sounds like a very dangerous place. AR is also probably not the best self defence choice but maybe there are very large numbers trying to breach his location……. crazy huh :(.
An RPG is the obvious answer for his home defense needs, though I would consider moving to a better neighborhood or even state.

It was the absolute closest I've ever come in my life. I've never had a finger on the trigger pointed at someone. It was just a bad case of wrong place, wrong time. Paige had to piss when we were driving back from Red River, stopped in Clovis. This was a rare occasion that I wasn't "situationally aware"... by the time she hopped out, I was on my ph looking at the map, and all of the sudden there was a "crew" getting all whacked out with another "crew" right next to me. Then they start mouthing off "Look at you in yo white car, with yo white girl, and yo white ass... I see that Glock handle mother fucker"... this went on for what seemed like forever. I tried to mind my business, looking at the door for Paige in case they got stupid. The guy got distracted at the right moment that Paige came out, I say "get the fuck in".... these "crews" continued to shout and argue as we were leaving. I could have gotten out and ran in there to get her, but that would have escalated things. .. He already saw my gun. Tough decision to make, but things turned out ok. She came out unnoticed and we popped smoke. I saw his imprint, and I don't know how many of the others were packing, so I was pretty outnumbered, and out gunned. All's I could do was keep a level head till the situation got better, or worse. Thankfully, it wasn't the latter. This is what I mean by "training"... you have to observe the situation, and play chess at a high level, and make sure you're 2 moves ahead to avoid a bad situation.

Such a violent country
Guns make it so and the prisons full, FREEDOM! It's pretty obvious to the rest of us and the statistics speak loudly, every other functioning liberal democracy has gotten rid of, or severely restricted firearms and the results speak for themselves. It is yet another symptom of governmental and social dysfunction, failure to adapt. it is mostly a result of a lack of actual democracy and the will of the people cannot be properly expressed because of structural problems and historic cheating and racism. They have minority rule in the house because of Gerrymandering an electoral college for the president who can be elected after getting millions of votes less than the real winner of the popular vote and the senate represents geography, not people. A state with a population of 300K has the same two senators as one with nearly 40 million people.

Besides all that, over 40% of the population are racist assholes who support fascism and the overthrow of their own constitution and democracy!

As big as the US is, it’s kind of a little too late… the genie is out of the bottle, and it’s only going to get worse. Hell, FL is up for a no license carry, with a $25 fee for having one without an I.D. …. Going the wrong direction. I was just in FL, and I thought Oklahoma was a red State.. FL is RED.
It’s all about the money, like pharmaceuticals, but that’s a whole other subject.

3% of the population own 50% of the guns and if ya went to 10% you would have the vast majority of them. Most people would turn them in and then they can focus on the holdouts. Eventually technology will be the answer, with robodog coming out of the rubble with a gun in this jaw pincers and some will no doubt have cold dead hands attached. The ATF guys will be parked down the road having coffee in the van.
