Trump To Turn Himself In

I've thought about this schadenfreude thing a lot. It's like Americans are in denial though. Funny stuff. I try to be aware of it when it hits me.

Serious question, do you think it's a true emotion, or just a passing state of mind?
I do think it is something primary. The closest English I know is neener.

It depends on who the misfortune happens to, if someone was coming at you with a knife (or a vaccine needle) and slipped on a banana peel, fell on their ass and were thwarted, you would most likely experience a range of emotions including schadenfreude! If Putin flew out a window, most Ukrainians would be indulging in the unchristian vice too.

MSNBC’s Lawrence O’Donnell analyzes the latest developments in the Manhattan D.A. Alvin Bragg’s case against former President Donald Trump, including the ongoing exchanges between the D.A.’s office and Congressman Jim Jordan which is actually helping shed new light on the charges against Trump.

That silly statute of limitations. If they can indict trump now when he's in Florida why couldn't they have done it before the statute of limitations ran out years ago?

Any of you legal experts have the answer?

Case is DOA.
Something something NY clock stops when they're out of state, and given how much time the orange shart spent at his merdalardo play castle, the clock hasn't run out?

Actually I wouldn't really be happy with their misfortune, and I would hope that they were not too hurt in fact. I would likely however look back on the instance as a form of karmic kismet, which would serve to reinforce my belief that the power of the universe is much larger than we can every imagine. When I do experience schadenfreude, I don't feel good about it, but I'm willing to acknowledge it. It's an emotion much like hate, envy, or jealousy, which I try to avoid, but that can only be done first through acknowledgment and understanding why the emotion gets triggered.

Time as POTUS was time out too and it should be for federal law as well and will prevent running out the clock while they can't be charged when POTUS.

This is true and to do that you must be able to sense your basic feelings and they happen in your body and are based of approach and avoidance behaviors as well as conditioning. These basic feelings drive more complex socially based emotions, including empathy, thinking usually comes last and is most often used to justify a feeling that most people don't realize is driving the whole show. Also feeling these emotions is socially conditioned as well as modulated by one's personal propensities and circumstances.

My father was a pentecostal minister who did missionary work in Guatemala in the early '60s

what did your daddy do?
Worked at the Marine Atlantic ferry to NFLD here in Nova Scotia, built model sailing ships from the ground up when he retired. During the war he built US bases in Gander and Argentina, spent some time working in St Pierre (French Islands) living on a schooner.
