Hospital?....Ok last post before i head into the hospital
Had some kinda mass removed from my hip. Most likely not cancerous but they still can’t tell if it was just a lipoma until the results come back. All went wellHospital?....
I lived in a small town in Turkey on the Black Sea for 2 years when I was a teen. My father worked for the Air Force back when we had Nukes in Turkey. Hashish was sold openly in the Bazaars. And there were large fields of Opium Poppies all around town...but that was the early 60's.They say the Oregon rain will get you down,
But I hunger for the freshness of its sound
The wind, the sun, the things that I have known before,
Now seem like faded ghosts, like shadows on the floor
I live in Oregon, Oregon's my home ...
I love the trees, the hills, the places I have roamed ...
I long to be there, I long to be there with my own kind!
Let me roam endless hours on my own ...
Take me home, back to where green trees grow ...
The band wrote the song with a specific purpose. They had heard about Joann McDaniels, a University of Oregon student who had taken a sabbatical from school, and was now in prison in Turkey.
JoAnn was from Coos Bay, Oregon, and had last seen her parents in 1972, when she came home for a six-week visit, then she returned to Spain where she was living with friends.
Soon thereafter, she and her two companions, Bob Hubbard and Kathy Zenz, were arrested by Turkish border authorities, charged with smuggling hashish, and initially sentenced to death in December 1973.
Their sentence was later commuted to life in prison, which could be as little as forty years, if they were lucky.
After over six years in a Turkish prison, Joann, Bob and Kathy were returned to the United States in a prisoner exchange in 1980.

I remember that day bro. I went without you not really knowing what happened.Nice! If I lived where you do I would be mostly all about the sturgeon once again.C&R. I used to fish allot up a little from you. From the fleet on up. Had a 23’ trophy in a slip at Vierras in Isleton but would usually haul my 18’ Lund fisherman out from my pad in Stockton and launch in Pittsburg or Antioch as that’s where I used to do allot of my fishing.
I used to take the Trophy out in the bay and get the halibut and striper and shark didn’t trust it outside the gate lol. I used to go out on party boat trips all the time.
Myself and @doublejj and a few others on here have been on a couple rock fishing trips together. I like the crab/rockfish potlucks around turkeyday the best. We were gonna do it again in 2018 but right before the trip, i burned down in the Camp Fire up in Paradise. So I didn’t make it lol
I have been on the Eldorado b4!
I have maintained a residence within 20 mile of my birthplace up to today and will for the foreseeable future.Do you still live where you grew up? Or did you move somewhere?
Tell us a story? Were you chasing someone? Running from something? Job? What's up? Let me in.
Great input Lokie thanks! I drove to Virginia Beach for a funeral before. I believe that is my only time in your fair state.I have maintained a residence within 20 mile of my birthplace up to today and will for the foreseeable future.
My backyard was and still is within the Triple Crown Of Virginia.
I'm centered between 2 of the 3 peaks.
A promo video
A backpackers GoPro video.
That is not to assert that I have always lived here.
Chasing something/someone, running from, work?
Yes and No, to all of the above.
At times, it was plain Avoidance, Sneaking or Planning.
For many years, my career kept me traveling. Sometimes I only got home once a month,
others I would be on assignment for 6 months+.
Occasionally a contract outside the Continental US.
A Story? There is always a story.
I never went to band camp, however I can relate to "That one time in a Hotel".
Not my video. I did not walk to the lobby using props or in shame.
I sashayed in with Pride and suave fair!
