Cubensis liquid culture…legal? What changed??

It’s an amazing time to be alive. Several well known spore vendors are now selling liquid cultures of cubensis which I am sure in the past was never a thing. Not sure if the laws have changed or if it’s just that since LCs are sort of a grey area anyway it’s fathomable that law enforcement has given up trying to bust online vendors for selling harmless mycologist supplies. Seems unlikely that a jury would punish someone for selling unidentified mycelium that do not yet contain active psychoactive compounds. Could see the cops busting you for carrying a sack of mushrooms in your person but a syringe of mycelium or a lc in your fridge could probably go unnoticed unless the cop knew what they were looking at. Does anyone know what changed to make cubensis LCs available?

I saw LC for sale back in 2008 when I started growing shrooms in bulk for the first time. Personally I have had better results when using spores then using LC from a random source. Homemade LC has worked fine for me but the few times I’ve gotten it from other people the growth was slow and irregular until I did a couple agar plate transfers to try to get the mycelium happier.

I mean they’re shipping shroom chocolate bars too sooo…
They were selling those at a local head shop along with “delta 9” edibles. I got 2 last summer and they were quite vibrant;giggled late into the night. Store got shut down recently and I feel bad for the guy who was running it. The state wants their cut….
I'm pretty sure this has always been you just can't "use them".
I distinctly remember when I started growing shrooms that LCs for magical species were not for sale whereas spores were. Either way I’m glad to see this; natural psychedelics should have never been made illegal. Hard to believe the US enforces laws that were made during Nixon era.

Ok so it has been awhile then. I trust the source of the LC because I have been getting spore from them for years. Planing to do some LC to agar plates as i usually do with spores but dying to try LC direct to grains. Looks like fun.

Ok well ….LC straight to grains then. I’m going to show how I do agar work in my other thread but here is how I prep grains. I like whole oats because they are super cheap and available locally. Got a 50 lb bag from tractor supply which I split with 2 friends. Works out to $8 per for 16+ lbs of oats each. Enough to last years.
Here is 8 quarts of grain spawn steaming off on a towel. This is the about the max amount of grains I want to do at once; must fit on a single towel. The most important thing I’ve found is to be sure you don’t load the jars up too wet. If you dump them out on a towel and let them steam off while still hot they will dry in a few hours.

When a paper towel stays dry when pressed onto the grains it’s ready to jar up and PC. I then pressure cook my grain jars at 15 psi for 90 mins. I turn off the heat on the stove and let the PC cool overnight.
Time to nocc these jars w/LC. I’ll post pics of my progress when there is anything notable to report. Already started 8 jars last week; LC rips through grains pretty fast. It’s a great time to be alive

I want to get started with a shroom project, but I am extremely wary about ordering anything online. I’m in a very nasty prohibition state. Then again, I have only tried shrooms once about 20 years ago and it was not a good experience. I don’t have access to anything, so it’s either forget about it altogether or just dive in headfirst and hope for the best.

Don’t be too paranoid about getting anything shroom related shipped to your house. People are growing all kinds of different mushrooms at home now; nearly impossible for anyone to know what varieties you grow unless of course they sample it. Anyway magical shrooms can be scary at onset for the uninitiated but if you ingest responsibly you should have a good time or at least not regret it. Most people eat way too much their first time around. If you just dip your toe in the water as opposed to jumping right into the deep end of the pool so to speak you may have a more enjoyable experience.
