2x2 grow tent..enough to fit 2 plants?

A kit typically comes with the worst quality of everything. If smell is a concern, buy your components separately.
I ran an 6x18" carbon filter in my 2x2 and wound up putting a hole in the house for the exhaust to keep the lady happy.
You will smell it regardless of the filter if you are exhausting back into the same room. It is a strong smelling plant
Okay good to know. I got a window in the room I'm using so may be able to fix something up to go out of that. I got 2 2ft plants in the closet in a spare room right now lol they're still in veg but gonna be switching to flower soon. Plus gonna order some seeds too. Just got into growing but the old lady doesn't like me doing it in the closet

I like your plan. You already have a 2x2 closet. imo I'd get a 3x3 or a 4x4 if you could. I always appreciate the extra space and I end up thanking myself that I did later down the road.

1 large plant in a 5 gallon pot of soilless mix (liquid feed nutes) or 10 gal pot of soil (already fertilized).

Get the largest one you can fit in your space and can afford. Grow space is your friend.

Well just really wondering about airflow and trying to keep the smell somewhat masked. New to this so just making sure I cover all my bases before ordering. I was gonna get the 2.5x2.5 mars hydro all in one kit

The 2.5 x 2.5 will fit 2 plants in 3 gallon pots or one plant in a 5 gallon pot. You will quickly realize you need more room lol!
I got 2 in 5 gallon pots at the moment about 2 ft tall apiece. Should I just go with 2x4 then? Was trying to stay around a 400 dollar budget or so

I'd go a 2x4. This is two autos that vegged for three or so weeks in a 2x4, with a lot of defol. You'll be removing far more plant than you keep if you go two in a 2x2.
Here's another two autos in a 2x4 with a fair bit of defol.
And an auto amnesia in a 3x3, around 3 or four weeks veg.
Two plants in a 2x2 is going to be a real push unless you're keep 1/2 of each plant, if not less. I usually fill a 2x2 within four weeks with a single plant.
