magnesium deficiency diagnosis ( 1 week update )

Hey guys, of course I’m back. Love to be here but on better terms I wish was the case. It’s been about a week since my Epsom salt spray doesn’t seem to getting any different for the better, looks to be worse on the “first” plant ( will provide photos and info below ). Leaves are very odd (short and like stubby) on plant 1 not sure what that’s all about. Each plant had a slurry test done to determine PPM and PH.

Disclaimer - I’m a newb

Issue details

Correction attempt roughly 1 week ago - Epsom salt spray, 1 tbsp per gallon of water dissolved with 1 drop of dish soap and poured into a spray bottle.
Sprayed both tops and bottoms of all the leaves.
Issue noticed - roughly almost 1.5 weeks ago

Plant info

Plant life duration - roughly 5 weeks
Amount of plants - 2
Light - IONBOARD s24 (roughly 1.5 feet above canopy of plants) 24 hours of light
Pot size - 5 gallon
Strain - autoflower blue dream
Circulation - tent is opened once a day, ac infinity all in one carbon filter in-line fan hasn’t been used yet , clip on fan blowing air around the tent . Two other vents are open now.
Soil - coast of Maine stonington blend
Temp - 79/80
Humidity - 75ish

Nutrient info

Nutrients - 5 ml of dynagrow foliagepro per gallon of water, roughly half gallon per watering.
PH ( in a gallon of water ) - 3.9
500 scale ppm ( in a gallon of water ) - 515
700 scale ppm (roughly in a gallon of water ) - 712


Plant 1

soil ph - 6.5
500 scale ppm - roughly…912
700 scale ppm - 1107

plant 2

Soil ph - 6.7
500 scale ppm - roughly 1040
700 scale ppm - 1237

Any recommendations/corrections to my grow would be appreciated. Also any additional information needed, please feel free to ask I have been trying to get better at supplying information that is needed.

Looks like Mg and K deficiency. What's your water like? Those yellow edges and burnt tips is what makes me say K. And the light green between the veins looks like Mg. What did you mean by pH 3.9, and how are you checking soil pH?

You don't need to worry about soil ph. it's a reflection of the user

Well if the soil is the wrong ph ? Then the plants won’t be able to suck up the nutes no?

It's the least of your worries at this point .Is that a better way of saying.

Anyone feel free to shoot me down if I'm wrong, but if your water doesn't have trace elements, then isn't a 'sea based' feed a good source to get those?

Maybe try a little fish hydrolysate or kelp.

Broad range of trace elements and micronutrients in those, and couldn't do any harm I reckon.

Yes, that's a decent way to test pH. I wouldn't have bought that good organic soil and decided on using those nutes if it was me, but it can work.

The ill effects of chlorination in the water have been overplayed.

It won't hurt your plant at all, and cannabis needs a little chlorine to be healthy.

The only downside is that the chlorine can (marginally) reduce your microbe population, but it's not that big a deal.

Let the tap water sit in an open container for 24 hours, and most of the chlorine will evaporate off.
