Halloa! I am planning to use 1000watt bulb with a fan cooling reflector setup for 1.5m x 1.5m size tent with five plants. Any pro tips? My first time with so high wattage bulb.
Unless you need some heat, want to control the smell and humidity or bring in some c02 etc. etc.upgrade to LEDs and no more squirrel cage fans, charcoal filters, hoods and ducting, cutting holes in walls, etc.
i have none of those problems. double wide closet. 2 led panels. 1 small fan blowing across tops of lights/drivers. no nothing, no exhaust, etc. beautiful plants.Unless you need some heat, want to control the smell and humidity or bring in some c02 etc. etc.
That's you. Wouldn't work in an unheated garage that's why I have an HID. Works better than LED's for my situation.i have none of those problems. double wide closet. 2 led panels. 1 small fan blowing across tops of lights/drivers. no nothing, no exhaust, etc. beautiful plants.
Last summer I had a batch in my shed under LEDs and a friend of my son came by and was about 8 feet from the building and said "I smell weed". My son told him he (my son) had been smoking it. I could smell it every time I went near it too. I had it vented (with a fan) out the back.upgrade to LEDs and no more squirrel cage fans, charcoal filters, hoods and ducting, cutting holes in walls, etc.
We just like fondling our girls.I'm lazy and working on the most low maintenance least hassle grow. I'm even swapping out my collection of all sorts of nutrients, guano, fish emulsion, molasses, etc. Soon I'll be using Gen Hydro MaxiGrow and bloom, roots excellurator gold, moab and maybe some superthrive. My water is perfect ph.. I see a lot of master gardeners on here and I cant even believe the amount of time and money being spent... different strokes i guess..
My current plants in veg are growing in used soil with some compost added. That's all. They're doing fine. Haven't done a damn thing since planting the seed except water a few times.I'm lazy and working on the most low maintenance least hassle grow. As long as your hood is sealed tight w/ no leaks, PULL the air through.Push the air through the air cooled hood.
Filter>fan>hood>out.
Usually each part connected by ducting so no rattling .
Reason you push is because sucking through the hood will expose any leaks, suck non filtered air through those leaks and filter won't be doing the job it's designed for.
Lots of hoods out there, you want an good size one with good light spread.
You can Google the height above plant
Make sure you have great ventilation and remove that heat from at least that room and preferably outside.
Keep your thermometer out of direct light.
Clean your glass on your hood regularly, like every crop.
LED saves no electricity if you have to run a heater to keep the heat up.Air cooled hood or cool tube will be necessary. If your ballast is dimmable I suggest vegging with a 400 or 600w instead of the 1000, save ya a few weeks of higher electric bills. Honestly if you can afford it go led, the electrical savings are well worth it and there’s really no difference in flower quality despite what weirdos with emotional attachment to their choice of lighting style might say.
Hahaha, wow.I'm lazy and working on the most low maintenance least hassle grow. I'm even swapping out my collection of all sorts of nutrients, guano, fish emulsion, molasses, etc. Soon I'll be using Gen Hydro MaxiGrow and bloom, roots excellurator gold, moab and maybe some superthrive.
Fair point, if you don’t need to though it’s worth it. Ngl if I had another 600w ballast I’d put em back up for the winter. Would still need the heat during lights out but during lights on could cut it off and save like $20/moLED saves no electricity if you have to run a heater to keep the heat up.
You do need a little borax(1ppm) with maxibloom and strain dependent maybe some extra calcium and magnesium. But otherwise a solid fertilizer. I like masterblend a bit better, but once I figured what I was short on made the maxibloom workMy current plants in veg are growing in used soil with some compost added. That's all. They're doing fine. Haven't done a damn thing since planting the seed except water a few times.
All you need is the MaxiBloom. Moab is just overpriced MKP. The roots stuff is not needed. And Superthrive is snake oil and nasty as well.
Yummy. Heavy metals like Arsenic, Cadmium, and Lead with a hint of Mercury. Why would you put that into your soil?
