You really have to pay attention to what your mind and body tell you. For the last 15 years I've been growing out and searching many strains to fit my specific needs. Mainly for depression where a good sativa like Kali Mist with some Mazar in it really helped but was so much a sativa that it would give me an anxiety attack if I hit just a little too much in my pipe. Would only last for 15 min or so but then I felt great. I crossed that with NL#5 and it still worked great but no more anxiety even if I deliberately overindulged.
Later, strains with Mazar like Purple Jems by The Joint Doctor, Mazar x LowRyder and lately an auto I grew outside called Mazarilla, Mazar auto x GG#4 auto by Urban Legends also hit that sweet spot but all were short lived and didn't seem to work as well when made into edibles. Hemp farms popping up around me so no more outdoor growing and now flowering during the spring and summer indoors either. All my plants were full of seeds this year.
About 7 years ago I discovered CBD's effects on my arthritis when I bought some 1g samples including a 2:1 CBD strain from the first dispensary I ever went to on a trip out to Kelowna, BC to visit family. Island Sweet Skunk CBD and about a half a joint really helped so I bought 10g to bring home and make into cocobudder and that was the best. A tsp in the evening and my usual morning pain was down 75% or so.
I seem to have fixed a 40+ year bout of depression by micro-dosing with magic mushrooms. It also took away my compulsion to drink so I've been cheerful and sober for a year and a half and that feels great! Just starting another run of those mixed with Lion's Mane mushroom powder and vit. B3 as I felt I was getting the winter blahs. Just 3 doses so far and feeling better already. Got great news today when I saw the doc about a brain MRI I had last week. I do not have MS! Whoo Hoo!
Other shit going on so off for blood-work tomorrow and a colonoscopy coming up soon. This nurse practitioner lady is going to get to the bottom of what's going on with my bottom.
Best damn doctor we've had for over 10 years and she's not even a doctor.
With THC you can have the effect in seconds but with CBD you really need to be in tune with your body. One dose isn't enough to tell if it's doing anything so like most natural type medications it can take a while before it's effect is really noticeable but worth trying for a while. Edibles seem to be best for it's use and longer lasting effects. A 2:1 or higher level of CBD seems to help me the most. Still trying to find a stain with lots of CBD and as close to zero THC as possible. My son wants some with no THC as he gets tested once in a while for his job hauling heavy equipment.
Different strains are not all the same to me and super high THC holds no interest unless it's a strain that does a lot more than fug me up.
That being said I think I'm gonna hit some GG#4.
