It's okay you gave me my first high..maple candy at age 3..boy did that shit wake up my mind..I remember thinking if I should tell them how good this made me feel..I had my own little kids box..I can still feel the happiness, the warmth of the sun darting in and out while passing under the canopy of trees. I was seated behind my mother on the passenger side..my eyes glazed and half open. Pink Floyd had not yet written Comfortably Numb for I was still a child who had a fever.

It's more about tolerance vs understanding - positivity and optimism. It's rare that one can change someone's mind, so you love them anyway.

Can't get a Catholic to become Baptist, can't get a Conservative to vote Liberal, can't get a 49er fan to become a Viking fan, so you love them anyway.

Unless they are coming for you with a gun or are trying to destroy you as a people or community, or take your vote so they can do it, that evokes a different emotion.

If it is the insurers it's in cahoots with the conservative gov't here. Jason Kenney, the one who resigned after a vote of confidence from his own party members only got him 51.5%, started trashing our medical system by first tearing up the previous contract with doctors which had a lot like the two I'd been seeing for a few years pick up and move to greener pastures. Then he attacked nurses by limiting raises and even trying to claw some back but that didn't fly. Still with the Covid burnout and super low moral many left as well.

Kenney even closed the new superlab that was millions into completion and farmed out hospital tests to private labs and also cleaning contracts for the hospitals. Relatives of his got some of those contracts so that's being looked into.

He conned his way to winning in the first place so the RCMP started an investigation that almost 4 years later has not got anywhere but like tRump he's started so many other fires elsewhere that he's hoping everybody has forgotten about that. I sure haven't.

Election next May so with any luck we'll get the NDP back for a couple of terms to try to fix this but this is Texas north so not holding my breath.

VOTE THEM OUT!

:peace:
I didn’t connect the dots.
Insurers, astoundingly rich firms, are primary beneficiaries of the conservative “pro-business” (fewer regulations and controls on their doing the little guy over) mantra.

I've never yet seen a civilian carry a handgun or rifle in public outside of a hunting situation - coast to coast in Canada. So the premise that I'd be approached by someone with a firearm is foreign to me.

They do here on Western Slope..there are signs here on Eastern Slope 'leave your firearm outside'.

Same when I was consulting in Dallas..open carry, but most places have signs.

We have them here and they could even be elected, weaponizing policy for hate and selling it to their friends. Using the power of the state against their enemies and not enforcing the rule of law for some, look no further than down south, we are not much different. Here the majority is better represented, there not so much.

I think we had something like 35% of eligible voters actually vote in the last provincial election. A friend of ours recently ran for city council and we were quite active in helping her with canvassing. An uncomfortably large amount of people I spoke to said they weren’t going to bother voting. I told them you can vote right now, on your phone, it only takes a few minutes and you can vote on your couch! Some did but many still didn’t.

The people of Ontario get everything they deserve if they are too lazy to vote.
wow, Canadians can watch the fucking insanity in America live, and they still aren't interested in voting? then, you're right, they do deserve ford or w/e....hey, we got a guy we're trying to get rid of...kind of looks and acts like ford....you can have him free, we even got a box of big macs we'll throw in so you don't have to buy food for him for a few days, but you have to supply your own ketchup.

Believe it or not there are Canadians who would love to have your lard infused moron as their leader.
