I mentioned the Klan earlier. The racism is what people immediately think of, but the other part is that they’re also the spearpoint of the dominionists. I still flinch when I hear a Republican say family values; a lot of intolerance packed in there. The racism side of the coin shows in voter suppression and gerrymandering.

They’ll have to abandon the culture war, which is partly a dominionist thing but also an appeal to reactionary/rural mores. They have to visibly accept trans people as people. I use that as the current diagnostic.

They are a clear and present danger whenever they unfurl the “pro-business” flag with its associated ruinous fiscal policies, which include blocking spending for infrastructure as in Jackson MS. The fact that they have designated hitters floating the idea of killing Social Security by the death of a thousand nibbles frightens me.

So, until they expressly and in unison roll out the red carpet for centrists of every gender, creed and color — they are more than just odious. They are overthrow.

The other loyalty test they need to pass is to hold folks like Clarence Thomas and Aileen Cannon accountable for their assaults on the rule of law.

Im hearing no majority? Dems lose majority? I was hoping more blue voters When will all the seats be counted?

They are being counted currently. And there is a runoff election in December in Georgia for a senate seat.

So far there is no party in the majority, the Republicans are looking like they should have enough to control the house, but the senate is too close to know just yet. So basically they tied even though everything was lined up for the Republicans to win big.

It was not about the amount of blue voters, the Republicans were able to control the census and redrawing of the voting districts last year in a lot of states that they then hooked themselves up with.

People arnt magats or libtards. Many voters are tribal. Many just agree to disagree. The nation is full of differing opinions nearly split down the middle.

If republicans had stuck to policies this year on the subject of my wallet and the security of the nation - they would have done even better than they did.

Abortion is the only reason democrats faired nearly as well as republicans. The powers that be within the Republican Party are out of tune with a huge swatch of their constituents, myself included. I don’t need anyone on a federal level shoving their sense of morality down my throat - from either party. That’s why I voted libertarian for governor over the sitting republican. Not a fan.

As boomer/older republicans are replaced by younger more civil liberty/stay the f out of my bedroom and business republicans - hopefully we will get more candidates and a national message that aligns with that.

my take is they will always be there and have a right to be/exist/think how they want/vote how they want. They are a chunk of the pie within the party but don’t align with the views of the whole party. That’s my point about the boomer/war on drug/older population who happens to be more religious too typically. So as they die off (not to be morbid) the pie is made up of more people like myself and other groups in said pie

in a perfect world more than 2 parties would represent the constituency but I don’t see that happening
