Giant fan leaves

Taking a poll of sorts or if someone knows please reply.
When is the ideal time to remove those giant fan leaves, I mean those big giant suckers. I remove 1 around week 2 if the plant is healthy and growing rapidly of course. But I never remove more than one at a time because I'm scared of shocking the plant, So if anyone knows the best time to remove them, please speak up. I know they consume a ton of energy but also help the plant.

Once they have grown they don't consume energy, they create energy.
You should never remove them.

Removing leaves doesn't send energy to the buds, it reduces photosynthesis.

Removing leaves allows more light to priority areas, I only tend to strip inner leaves and leaf tuck

Once they have grown they don't consume energy, they create energy.

Then they have to transport energy. No point in creating energy if you don't transport it to where it's needed. Maybe why defoliation works for some.

Plants two weeks in flower benefit from every leaf they have.
Older plants do too.
Not against pruning at all.
Sometimes it has to be done.
But never the first choice for me.

Don’t remove …. You can actually tuck them in ( if blocking ) .

Thats what I am doing, they'll be 3 weeks this week and I'm leaf tucking as much as possible but if the leaves or blocking a large area or are touching the grow medium I will remove one or two here and there. I start defoliation at the start of flower and do it very slowly working from the bottom up, tucking what I can and removing what I have to, never more than 10% of the leaves at the most

PS I'm also trying something new to me, I don't know the training method's name but I top the plant then pull every limb out and tie it down for a level open canopy. I looks sort of like mainlining but you don't remove as many of the limbs or it is mainlining and I just not remembering it correctly lol.,..I do this at the start of flower
