Issues with batmix

Hey guys, im trying semi-organic grow for first time and got some issues already.

I had plants vegging in 1gal airpots about 6weeks. I feed them with basic mineral nutes and everything was alright.
I transplanted 2/6 plants to Plagron's Batmix and 4 plants to lightmix which keep going with minerals.

Now after a week those plants in Batmix are not looking healthy. It looks like they are missing nitrogen so added some.

Im using autopots with two separate tanks.
Any idea what to do next?

Did you rinse the soil? On the bag it says to get some run off before planting as the mix can become too hot.

Im starting to think that MJ doesn’t like that much P and prefers more N and K.

Did you rinse the soil? On the bag it says to get some run off before planting as the mix can become too hot.

Im starting to think that MJ doesn’t like that much P and prefers more N and K.

Yeah i had high hopes for this product but let see how this run goes.

No i didnt rinse it, i was thinking that 6week old plants can take it all.

Its weird situation because usually if im in trouble i just have to play with nutes less/more etc and now i have no idea what to do

It did produce some tasty bud but the plants showed all sorts of deficiencies. Most likely from
Excess.

Perhaps a light flush with water then a feed will remove those salt build ups?

I did go with top feeding for 10 days after transplanting to autopots so there was already some sort of flush.
Maybe i just keep going with top feeding for a while and see what happens.

Did u have troubles also in flowering?

Aye they should sort themselves out. I’ve only
tried auto flowers with batmix and they didn’t like it veg but was better in flower but I underfed them as I didn’t know what I was doing back then

So they sell you a medium preloaded with nutrients and then tell you to rinse out said nutrients before using? That seems like some fuckery.

Personally, I think I would hold off on the top dress and just try to flush once or twice and see if there is any improvement. If you are getting lockout due to some excess being there due to not doing the initial flush, i cant imagine that adding more nutes at this point is the answer.

Hah yep that sounds pretty crazy.
Yeah i was a bit quick to judge, should just keep feeding water. Anyway i didnt add much nitrogen so it should be fine.

It says soil less medium, but it's peat, perlite, worm castings, organic amendments..... so...... pretty much soil.

What about removing them from pots and re mix in something lighter and replant?

Im going to try that flush for now because i really wanna know if i can make this soil work.

Still got four plants with my basic soil and nutes so its not end of the world if i fuck this up.

Every bagged “soil” is considered soiless medium.
Soil comes from 100000 years of mineral breakdown into topsoil. Soiless medium includes any and all pre bagged mixes. The minerals(nutrients) are added with compost and meals instead of the natural breakdown of topsoils over long long periods of time.

I dont believe that is how it is classified when one is talking about hydro or soil growing. Soil-less is a method of hydro that uses an inert substance for the medium to hold the plants root system. At least that is how I have understood the use of soil-less in this manner.

Sounds like a rebag of Miracle Grow - CRF ( controlled release fertilizer ) at every watering. Sounds like mix would have been better off without the bat guano - EWC would provide plant ready nitrogen.

Do you have any EWC or compost or any source of microbes?

Sometimes soil fresh out of the bag is lacking microbes, and a top dress or tea of EWC/Compost can get the bacteria and fungus kicking, to balance things out for your plant.

Not right now but im able to get some.
Interesting idea, i may try it if flushing dont have any effect.
Tent is getting packed and its almost time to flip lights so i hope that something happens soon

If you're not into hauling around bags of dirty stuff and brewing up buckets of slop there are also lots of bottled products like "Grower's Recharge" or "Tribus" or "Plant Success: Orca" that you just mix with water and use right away.

Or dry stuff you just sprinkle on top of your soil and water in.

Soils are classified by their sand/silt/clay fraction. They're made up of various particle sizes of rock, with a small percentage of organic matter mixed in. It's in your back yard garden, and on farms.

By agronomic standard/definition, the product in question is a soilless medium.

Trust me, I always thought the same as you. But unfortunately all “soil” mixes with peat perlite compost and meals/‘’minerals are in fact considered soiless
