When considering a purchase from Amazon, I always read the negative reviews first. This has served me well over the years and a common theme seems to be fake/counterfeit merchandise.

Yesterday I was looking at USB thumb drives and it looks like many of them fail to deliver the advertised read/write speeds. At first I thought it was because they were cheap brands so started looking and well known brands like Samsung, Sandisk, HP, etc -- only to discover that many sellers are peddling fake merchandise that looks just like the real thing but fails in real life.

And it's not just high-tech stuff.
From shoes to beeswax -- even corn cob pipes, if there's a brand you trust that sells a lot of product, there will eventually be a counterfeit version on Amazon.

When negative reviews start piling up, the sellers just disappear then come back with a new name. Since they are in various countries, there's not much anyone can do about the problem.

Walmart is trying to set up an online marketplace with distribution centers just like Amazon. Their web content also has a similar look and feel.
Do we really need another Amazon? I'm all for competition, but Amazon started as a delivery business. Walmart will have to reinvent itself.
Hmm... doesn't seem like a good idea, but maybe Walmart will do a better job when it comes to counterfeit prevention.

I predict the next big shopping trend will be buying directly from manufacturers.

What do you think?

I do the same, right to the reviews when I buy online.
Just bought a refrigerator that way.
I don’t like Amazon.

heres afew things

1. there are entire fb groups where companies will have you buy a product they refund you via amazona nd you leave a 5 star review, its A LOT of the products you buy on amazon that this is a huge thing for you keep the product you give 5 stars you get your money back
theres like thousands of these groups on fb

2. a large majority of the products on amazon are stolen products.
as for an example you can find my art on amazon, but its not from me, aliexpress stole my photos than a seller on amazon will photoshop everything out but the product for a white background because amazon prefers sellers to use a white background and than they sell it

You know what’s up… I was looking for a new trigger set for my AR… All of the retailers were selling it for 40+ tax and shipping which brought it over 60$. I decided to check the mfg website. They made it for me and shipped it within 4 days with no shipping cost for 16$.

One of Rollitup's advertisers does exactly that right here via PM on your site. Cool?

I think a lot of it comes back to buying from reputable sellers. A couple of years ago, I bought a counterfeit HLG kit on Amazon, but Amazon took care of the issue when I reported it.

As far as Walmart, that's nothing new, they've been copying the Amazon model for a few years now.

I'm sorry if you find my comment aggressive, it was not intended. I realize that I am assertive, but I feel that your label of "aggressive with the admins" is disingenuous. I feel that I have been quite respectful in my communications with admin, however I could certainly point out multiple circumstances when that has not been the case in terms of role reversal. I only mention this here now, as a response to your statement.

As far as the concern of buying reviews on amazon, you are welcome to PM me if you like, and I an happy to have a dialog with you.

I would not call that assertive id call it aggressive, infact i would go so far to say that you specifically went ahead and tried to throw me under the bus like i knew this was going on and didnt do anything about and that was "cool?"
im working on the issue, it was only just brought up to me.

thanks.
