Donald made many enemies among the national security community and they will be braying for his head, the retired alumni are doing it on TV. There could be obstruction charges here too and if he is convicted of that and other things concerning the documents he will get out of prison, not house arrest, in a bag. All those involved with these documents and those who viewed them without clearance, everybody including Trump, is in legal jeopardy. All the underlings involved in this including Trump lawyers are squealing their heads off in fear over this shit. The FBI will finger print every document they took and if their prints are on them they had better be talking!

DNI Will Lead Assessment Of “Potential Risk To National Security” From Mar-a-Lago Documents
18,005 views Aug 27, 2022 Charlie Savage, Washington Correspondent for The New York Times, speaks to Yasmin Vossoughian about news that the Director of National Intelligence will conduct a risk assessment of recovered Mar-a-Lago documents and why obstruction could be a significant charge as the investigation moves forward.

Compare: how DOJ is handling Trump's classified documents crimes w/how DOJ handled another such case
39,578 views Aug 27, 2022 With the unsealing of the Mar-a-Lago search warrant affidavit, we are beginning to see the damage Trump has done to our national security. The reporting includes:

Bloomberg - "Trump's Stash at Mar-a-Lago Included Highly Classified Documents"

New York Times - "Documens at Mar-a-Lago Could Compromise Human Intelligence Sources, Affidavit Says"

USA Today - "Trump search affidavit reveals confidential source documents found at Ma-a-Lago, raising new alarms"

Rolling Stone - "Trump Bolted to Mar-a-Lago With Over Two Dozen 'TOP SECRET' Docs Affidavit Reveals"

Yet Donald Trump continues to play golf, attend fundraising dinners and hold political rallies.

Yet earlier this year, a Department of Defense employee named Asia Janay Lavarello who was working as an executive assistance in Hawaii went to prison for mishandling classified materials in way that was a million times less egregious and damaging than Donald Trump.

This video explores the circumstances of these two cases and asks the question, "is this equal justice?"
I hope the prosecution runs with this. That woman was imprisoned for 90 days for one count.

Trump took 157 documents marked Confidential or Secret. I’m not even discussing the high treason-level documents in more sensitive categories.

So 157 x 90 days is good for 39 years, if the sentences are consecutive.

That is entirely neglecting the higher standard of care his position obligated him to observe.

I do have disdain for trump …. As a veteran - held top secret clearances for my MOS ( Patriot missile / defense aquistion radar team ) I handled rotating “ codes “ and related docs. This is why I chime in the way I do. His lack of “ intelligence “ both mentally and his patriotism are embarrassing to say the least. Bone spurs and phony military deferments. He has no respect for the security of his country. He bleeds Americans dry / deadbeat his financial responsibilities and worships dictator scum …. Napoleon complex , except girthy .

WASHINGTON (AP) — A federal judge in Florida told the Justice Department on Saturday to provide her with more specific information about the classified records removed from former President Donald Trump's Florida estate and said it was her “preliminary intent” to appoint a special master in the case.

The two-page order from U.S. District Judge Aileen Cannon signals that she’s inclined to grant a request from Trump’s lawyers, who this week asked for the appointment of an independent special master to oversee the review the records taken from Mar-a-Lago and identify any that may be protected by executive privilege, and to ensure the return of any documents outside the scope of the search warrant.

The judge scheduled a Thursday hearing to discuss the matter further, suggesting the Justice Department will have a chance to raise objections to the judge's intentions. In other recent high-profile cases in which a special master has been appointed, the person has been a former judge.

Cannon also directed the Justice Department to file under seal with her more detailed descriptions of the material taken from Trump’s estate “specifying all property seized.” The former president’s lawyers have complained that investigators did not disclose enough information to them about what specific documents were removed when agents executed a search warrant on Aug. 8 to look for classified documents.

The special master appointment, if it happens, is unlikely to significantly affect the direction of the Justice Department investigation, though it’s possible an outside review of the documents could slow the probe down.

Why not just ask Russia or China for their copies ….

I am surprised that the freedomers did not put that man on blast for calling those who died or were captured in armed service
suckers and losers.

Trump: Americans Who Died in War Are ‘Losers’ and ‘Suckers’
The president has repeatedly disparaged the intelligence of service members, and asked that wounded veterans be kept out of military parades, multiple sources tell The Atlantic.

Thanks for the find. I don't think I've ever seen such a poor source coming from the left.

Maybe dirt bag should sign up for Trump's all star, paid very well up front, defense team. They will lose the case of the century in spectacular fashion and with great speed. Some talking head lawyers are saying it will be at least a couple of months until they federally indict him and the case in Georgia keeps expanding to ensnare more republicans as targets and witnesses. It's really only a question of where the hammer will drop first and when, when it does, Donald will be muzzled and not a player. As for the other federal indictments, Garland will just have all the evidence collected by the J6 panel and in Georgia delivered to the DOJ by the tractor trailer load.
The sad (dangerous) thing is despite the facts, a very large portion of your citizens are willing to clap their hands over their ears and shout "LALALALA" who still think this man is the second coming almost.

I would like to raise the possibility that they are not smart.

They are also very well armed and full of dumb rage.

I have a guy at work who keeps crowing about the coming "red wave". This week I raised the possibility to him that it might not go the way they think. I raised the point that things have been going against the wave for a while and that it might not amount to what they expect in magnitude. I asked him what he would think if he woke up and found that Republicans actually lost ground in the Senate. As I expected, he said the only way that could happen was through massive vote fraud "like the last one". He also said that if that happened, "they" would be going back to DC but this time with guns.

A whole conversation followed. He said that there is no way people wouldn't vote overwhelmingly Republican because he's talked to people in local stores and they are pissed about inflation. Amazing that America has seen inflation before without resorting to overthrowing democracy, isn't it? I agreed that nobody likes inflation but cautioned him about making judgements about the nation overall based on conversations he has locally. I asked him how many states he has been to in his more than 50 years on earth. He declined to say. I asked him if he had ever been to a city for more than a couple of hours. I asked him if he had ever seen an Ocean. Again, he refused to say.

In my experience, when you ask specific questions like this and don't get an answer, you are dealing with a person who has spent 99.9% of their lives in their own county. If not, you will get an answer, such as "sure, I spent a week in Atlanta" or "yes, I drove up the Atlantic Coast to Maine." If you get nothing, there is a strong likelihood that they have not spent more than a week outside of their home state.

So a lot of these people have literally no baseline to make any judgements about how the rest of the country would vote. And yet, due to their being spoon fed one-sided propaganda and lies by a coordinated right-wing media machine, they are certain that they represent the vast majority of Americans. They have bought the myth that their freedumb is being impinged by a small group of "globalist elites". All this compounds their dumb rage to the point where they are just itching for a chance to grab their guns and shoot somebody... anybody, really. At best, we might dodge this bullet. But even if we do, we'll be dealing with this for years to come.

Red America is an open bucket of gasoline just begging for a match.
