Auto vs. Photo

Was reading an article the other day. Sorry I can't find the link.

It was saying with breeding of Newer Strains that Autos produce as much in a year as Photos and are just as strong.

Thoughts?

Autos are getting there.. they have ok yeilds giving how fast they grow.. potency has improved over the years aswell but on average i think they are still quite weeker compared to photos.. jmo.

Autos can have decent yields, but I think the overall quality just isn't as good as photos and can never be. Don't get me wrong autos can still check off all the boxes that most people are looking for.

Autos have improved ( from years ago ) but the unpredictable nature of them will always be the issue. Ruderalis - is the third wheel component to the cross. Having that recessive trait become a little more consistent takes time - working the strain. Rudy genetics are used for speed but other characteristics pop out too , both good and bad.

Yes they improved , but it takes a dedicated breeder to refine them . Most autos can be first gen offerings so there is that too.
‘Lurk the grow journals - find what other growers choose. Many run to Mephisto / Nightowl , but there are others that work well ( speed seeds , Fast buds , Ethos , Dutch Passion , etc. ).

My limited experience with modern autos has been AWESOME, actually. My FastBuds got away from me & i didn't anticipate their potential for height, but for the most part they've been reasonably accurate to breeder times and descriptions.

OK I have done both but spent money on a good Tent and have my first Photo grow and so far it is doing well.

Autos I like because of the light thing but have to buy seed every time.

Between me and my Son we can do both, he likes Autos.

He has a Tent I'm not sure if he has the Lights he really needs. Guess he is like several kids now days waiting on Dad. Call him a kid but he is 40 but he is always getting soil and seed.

I might have extra Clones say here deal.
Looking at other strains I have never heard of. Photos Glue Sniffer, Gran Champagne, Sparkle Face. Autos Triskit, MSG, Knows Candy.

I mostly do Edibles and really don't care what I do. 4 hour set on my butt I'm good. Son most part likes a buzz going and be able to work. He was putting a roof on for me. He said the roof started moving so he had to get off Same way him driving us on the Blue Ridge, he said just too much had to get off.
