so here's my delimma: i buy large amounts of bud, and sometimes the smoke isnt as good as it should b. my quess is whoever grew it cut corners somewhere; whether it b in the overall growing conditions, use of nutes, lights, or drying and curing.. but somewhere down the line they turn good bud into less than average bud.. my question is: Is there any way to increase the THC levels in these dried buds to get a better smoke?

and for the smart asses, most of time i dont buy it. but there are times when i hav no choice. so how can i retify a growers mistakes after i received his dried buds?????????????

As far as I know, once it's dry there is no way to adjust the THC content. If the bud is too dry, you can put a piece of orange peel in the bag and it will increase the moisture of the bud, but thats about it.

ok, i hear you,

You CANT really add any THC to the bud after it has stopped growing.

If it is dry there are some things you can do.

First of all the best spot to store a large amount of bud is in mason jars or vaccum seal. Jars are easier if you have to get into it.

if you bud is dry, take a shower with it. Really.

When you take a shower in the morning, when the shower is warming up, put your bud in the turkey bad and open it. let the water get hot and the steam build up in the room, the vapors will slowly moisten the bud. That is a good way and so is orange peels, the only thing bad with orange peels is that it may make your bud smell like oranges. I don't like this, some people might like it or not care. Be careful. :peace:

remoistening it does nothing to overall high tho right? after i recieve the bud, if i use some curing procedures that wont increase the quality of the smoke????

I think it can only improve the quality of the smoke, not affect THC levels once it's gone through a drying/curing. Another way to rehydrate is to take a small bit of paper towel and dampen it. Or, get a piece of Oasis (green frog used for flower arrangements) and put it in a container with your bud, but keep the bud OFF the Oasis.

what will that do to the smoke? wont that give it an orange smell and taste?

im not a huge fan of the orange peel method. It adds too much flavor. I will usually just put a drop or two of water in my mason jar but thats usually around the end of a bag. if youre doing this with large amounts id say the shower idea doesnt sound too bad. just make sure you watch it so it doesnt get too wet.

maybe i used the wrong words when i said "increase the THC." i was jus talkin bout smoke that look stringy and brittle, that taste like pine, and burn the back of throat.. i jus read that some THC in the buds is non-psychoactive, will re moistening and re-curing these buds convert the non-psychoactive THC into psychoative THC????

Thats a good question but I doubt it. Once that shit is brick'd bush, thats all itll ever be. Unless...... you take those seeds you got from it and replant em. It probably came from good genetics just cant tell past that pine smell.

i dont deal wit pollinated buds... there are no seeds... i come across so many different strains its ridiculous, most are great but some are below average and my rep drops because of it...

There is nothing you can do to the THC once it is cut, dried and sold. Nothing. If you're losing rep because of shitty smoke, I advise you to do some quality control and smoke it before you buy it. If your dealer won't let you smoke it, then find another dealer cause they know they're selling you shit.

yea, the chemical process that turns those cannabinals into delta9 thc is irreversible (unfortunately!).. so you can never do anything (after the original harvest and curing process) to increase the thc of the the bud.. the thc levels will always just be falling/decreasing after harvest/curing... BUT if you are dealing with dry, skank, rough bud and its harsh to smoke, you can do the orange peel method.. I take a few orange peels and put them in the bag-o-weed overnight then in the mornng take them out and put the weed in the microwave for 5 seconds at a time (on high) and keep doing this until the weed is dry'ish again.. but this way, it has some moisture in it so when u smoke it it isn't so rough.. BUT make sure you dont forget to take the orange peels out of the bag! I have forgot to do this twice before when I was trying to revive old skank weed and even after a day, the orange peels inject so much moisture all the weed in the bag got MOLD! just be careful if you are re-injecting moisture into the dry bud, any exposure to orange peels should be at most like 8 hours.. dont let it sit in a closed bag for more than a day or u get mold..
also, get a water bong and put ice cubes all the way up to the top.. this will definitely make the smoke nicer on the lungs!

If your bud is harsh, pops and crackles, burns black and has a general bad taste then most likely it was not flushed before being harvested. Nothing you can do will rectify this. You can continue to cure the bud in hope of better taste and smoother finish, but if it was nuted badly it will only end up smelling like cat piss.
