Having recently taken a break from smoking for a couple of weeks, I've noticed my dreams have become much more vivid and frequent. It feels as though my unconscious mind is able to speak to me in ways that it couldn't while I was smoking weed daily. It made me think there may be some large importance to dreaming that is not well understood. I spoke to a friend about it, a survivor of mass trauma and PTSD, and he said that he smokes in order to ward off the horrific dreams that he otherwise experiences. Can't say that I blame him considering what he's been through, but I do wonder if he's missing out on something.
What is your personal perspective on and experience with dreams and how does smoking interact with them?
