Then your place of work is an aberation. I've followed the stats on the effects of these vaccines since Covid started because I wasn't getting no damn jab either. I've never had a flu shot and don't recall ever having the flu in the last 20 years so I played the odds there and won.
It was a good 8 months after the vaccine appeared before we got it up here in north Bumfuck, Alberta so I had plenty of time to research it and follow the daily reports about how many in the ICU that were vaxxed or not and the same stats with how many of either died. It was mainly the unvaxxed plugging up the hospitals and ICUs and also making the funeral homes rich.
I also delved deeply into the risks and benefits of it much like a doctor does when deciding on a course of treatment for a patient. All medications including vaccines carry some level of risk via side effects. Sometimes side effects are desired like the feeling you get when you take a hit of your medicine.
I end up seeing these medical commercials on TV because I watch a few US stations and pay close attention to the list of side effects. Take this to clear your skin but be careful because it can kill you. Or keep your blood sugar level easier but watch out for that nasty pancreatic cancer.
These new vaxs have lower levels of serious side effects than almost any vaccine ever made. Everyone's body is different as to how it reacts to a medicine as evidenced by how the pot that rocks your world might leave your buddy cold. Out of the millions that get the shot there's bound to be some that have a certain body chemistry, DNA quirk or any number of other variables that can cause an adverse reaction from something mild to even fatality. The odds of that with the vax are so much smaller than the odds of serious harm and death from the disease it was designed to protect you from that the benefit side of the equation wins hands down.
How the disease progresses concerned me. Serious respiratory illness is not good news for someone who's smoked a pack a day for over 50 years and has mild COPD. But then it was determined that smokers were less likely to become infected in the first place so pretty even there.
A fairly high percentage who get infected get blood clots and lots of them sometimes. I had a small stroke about 8 years ago and a CAT scan showed that I'd had 4 or 5 previous ones that went unnoticed by me. The last one just happened to numb out the right side of my face while I wash brushing my teeth before bed one sober Sat night. Was f'n weird and left me with serious brain fog, fatique and feeling like I was getting dementia like my birth mother did at 65. I'm 68 in Oct and the head has cleared up a lot especially after I microdosed 'shrooms on and off for 6 months then lost the desire to drink and haven't touched a drop since end of May /21. Brain is healing all the time now.
I figured the risks were much higher without the shot so I got mine when they showed up. The wife didn't at first but got hers a couple months later. I didn't push her at all. She did her own research and then a family member in BC died and she decided to go for it too. We both got all 3 and the first booster. The next booster is here now but the new double one is coming up so I might wait for that. I'll see how long it's going to be first.
I never had anything other than a mildly sore shoulder for a day. The wife had a bad couple of days after her 2nd shot but nothing with any of the others.
I don't regret it and my wifi kicks ass now too!
