i used the RO formula with my well water in DWC and it worked great.Get the jacks A and B and Mgso4 and forget the rest of that crap. Better yet get jacks Tap and forget the RO water, or the RO formula with pure water.
you can’t go wrong with that !I've been using Jacks Classic Blossom Booster (10-30-20) from beginning to end. I use Happy Frog and the two work well together along with a little calmag. Ten years ago I was told to buy Jack's General purpose and mistakenly bought the blossom booster.....and the plants thrived. So I never stopped using it.
All Jack's products are top notch. My nutrient cost is less than $10 a month and I have over 20 plants in various stages.
you can’t go wrong with that !
It’s funny you say you mistakenly bought the blossom booster and I actually did that recently. How much blossom booster do you use per gallon ? Very curious, thanks in advance !
I wasn’t insisting on any ratios or application rates for the OP, was simply providing a simple quick semi known feed chart that helped expand on their question. Additionally if you look a little closer at the chart used as a simple example you will note straight RO and then 25% strength suggestions, ie gradual upping of Feed strength. Just like you said with your 10% suggestion.if you go full strength right away you will fry the plant. kootsmed chart is bunk and paid for. better off starting low (like 10%) and slowly raising the EC according to how the plants respond. definitely do not need recharge or microbe mix or any extra stuff besides maybe silica (at a lower concentration than koots suggests).
I had the same problem and just switched to 3-2-1 on this grow, too. Actually, 3.0-2.0,-0.8. Just Jacks and Tribus once a week.I feed jacks 321 at 80% strength (3.0-2.0-1.0) from seedling through harvest.
It should also be noted that for some reason Jacks has recently increased the feed rate to 3.7-2.5-1.1, instead of the old 3.6-2.4.1.2. I always got a little bit of tip burn at with 3.6-2.4.1.2 ratio, so 80% seems to be the sweet spot for me.
What is the water schedule? Coco should be wet at all times with a 90-100% saturation. Salt can mess things up if it not flushed regularly. What is the the runoff EC?I keep getting weird issues following jacks 321 in coir. I'm mixing part a @3.79 part b @ 2.52 and 0.99 epsom salt. This is in coir ph 5.8 to 6
What is a good silica for hydro? Does it change the EC or PH at all?I do roughly (weight in grams per gallon of water) 3.2 of A, 1.5-2.5 of B depending on flower stage, 1 of mg (or swap in calmag and decrease your calnit some). I add some pk booster mid flower because I have it, but don't think it really brings much to the table over just adjusting the ratios of A to B. I don't now, but previously used silica...that was one of the few additives that I thought produced noticable results with stronger more robust plants, just been lazy and haven't bothered to get more once I ran out. Last year I used fulvic/humic acids, didn't see any advantages in this situation.
So uh, to answer the question, some version of the basic 321 is fine the whole way though. There is plenty of room to change stuff or add other things, but it isnt really necessary.
This is the most plant available silica that I have found. It is expensive but you only use 0.3ml per gallon. I was introduced to the product by @PJ Diaz. He may have more info than me.What is a good silica for hydro? Does it change the EC or PH at all?
