Rep. Banks: Trump 'Fired Up' Over FBI Raid, 'Made Up Mind' on '24
The Republican Study Committee (RSC) met with former President Donald Trump on Tuesday night in Bedminster, New Jersey, and Chair Jim Banks, R-Ind., is warning Democrats the Mar-a-Lago raid has only "fired up" Trump.

Trump is "very upbeat" and has "made up his mind" on a 2024 presidential campaign, according to Banks, whose committee is urging Trump to make his presidential declaration "sooner than later."

"He didn't seem defeated in the least bit — he was very fired up, very upbeat," Banks told Fox News about the "great three-hour-long" meeting with about a dozen RSC members and Trump, the New York Post reported.

RSC members were urging Trump to officially announce his 2024 presidential campaign "sooner rather than later," according to Banks.

"He said we are going to like his decision, and it is only a matter of time before he will make that decision known," Banks told Fox News.

Banks shared photos and details of the meeting with Trump on social media.

"House conservatives are united in standing with President Trump," Banks wrote on Truth Social. "We will Make America Great Again! @RepublicanStudy."

Banks also denounced the latest Democrat attempt to keep Trump from running in 2024.

"Democrats will do anything and everything they can to prevent Donald Trump's name from ever being on the ballot again," Banks wrote in another Truth Social post. "No one has ever exposed their corruption more than he has."

Banks also noted Attorney General Merrick Garland has exposed himself as a radical partisan operative.

"Thank God Merrick Garland is not a Supreme Court Justice!" Banks tweeted.

Banks noted the Mar-a-Lago raid has not divided Republicans, but "unifies Republicans in our outrage."

"The Republican Party is bigger and stronger than ever before because of Donald Trump's leadership," Banks told Fox News.

"If anything, what the left and the corrupt Biden administration has done will only backfire on them, as they see that the American people stand with President Trump," he added.

"The House GOP is fighting back. We stand united in outrage against the Biden White House and DOJ, and we stand with President Trump."

"I am going to run. It is the only way I will stay out of jail."

Trump Allies Fear FBI Raid Sparked by 'Flipped' Aide
A close aide or former aide of Donald Trump might have "flipped," leading to the FBI raid of Mar-a-Lago, sources told Axios on Wednesday.

The raid, apparently tied to documents at Mar-a-Lago, might have been predicated on sensitive information given to an FBI informant, according to the report.

Officials told CBS News on Wednesday investigators took boxes and documents from Mar-a-Lago but did not take any electronic devices.

Trump has also alleged officials wanted to conduct the search without witnesses, and Eric Trump even said the FBI urged Mar-a-Lago to turn off the security cameras — a request that was denied.

Also, a Trump lawyer told CBS News, Trump's bedroom, office, and a basement storage area were the three focal points of the search conducted while lawyers were forced outside.

Another Trump lawyer, Christina Bobb, said two to three dozen basement storage boxes were searched and several items were taken by officials. The boxes were shown to FBI investigators in June and Bobb said Trump officials were warned they were not properly secured.

A padlock was added, but FBI investigators broke that lock during their raid anyway, according to Bobb.

About a dozen boxes were seized by officials, she added, according to Axios.

durham report. he almost got one indictment. but he's still working hard!!!!
The investigation of the investigation has taken far longer than the original investigation and produced nothing. Can't believe that lawyer was indicted in the first place. Seemed like an easy case to beat.

Joe: This Guy Is Driving Republicans Over The Cliff, When Will They Ever Learn?
93,743 views Aug 10, 2022 The Morning Joe panel discusses tweets from former VP Mike Pence on the FBI's search of Mar-a-Lago and how other GOP leaders are reacting to the search.
Our best hope is they don't and just keep doubling down, they need to just keep on keeping on. Ideally everyone but the wackos drops them.

I don't like that idea of some sort of mono party, but eh, that can be addressed at a later date and time. We need to get back to where opposing sides aren't in different realities.

good post

According to that article, the raid was what we have been told by government officials. It was nothing more than an attempt to retrieve sensitive government documents that Trump was obligated to surrender, was contacted by government records officials and directly asked for those documents and was warned that he was potentially committing a crime by refusing to surrender the documents. Finally, the raid was planned in such a way as to reduce the profile of the event. Which they did. The outrage and anger this legal and necessary raid raised is in fact the least one could expect.

This legally authorized raid worked as planned. Nobody was hurt, the operation was peaceful, efficient, the team knew documents where being illegally held, they knew where the documents were being held and the search was limited to those areas. Despite the caution taken, Republicans threaten violence. This is the state of the Republican Party and our nation.

The last paragraph sums it up:

"According to news reports, some 10-15 boxes of documents were removed from the premises. Donald Trump said in a statement that the FBI opened his personal safe as part of their search. Trump attorney Lindsey Halligan, who was present during the multi-hour search, says that the FBI targeted three rooms—a bedroom, an office and a storage room. That suggests that the FBI knew specifically where to look."

Democrats are hardly a monolithic party. There will always be contested elections, even if the Republican Party manages to destroy itself. The focus will shift to the primaries. The general election will become less costly, so there is that.

Why does the media refer to the US documents as "disputed material" rather than "stolen goods".? He's a thief of every US citizen. That is plain and simple.
because we still apply the rule of presumed innocence, to the collective disgust of GQP myrmidons.

a good word btw; relevant definition is not in the thumbnail.

I tend to quickly get bored with obvious moron cult members and stop reading their posts filled with lies. If I engage them it usually doesn't last long, life is short and it's a waste of time, they'll never change their cult beliefs.
By my lights they serve a purpose that has nothing to do with the purpose they imagine they serve. Naturally, I am not disclosing that serendipitous feature.
