I wasn’t comparing coco to promix when I referenced the “drenched medium” example. I was mostly trying to illustrate how vague the term “flushing” is.
It’s not cheap coco in fact it’s incredibly expensive. They say it’s triple washed and sterile, buffered the whole 9 yards. The brand themselves says how great the aeration is and how you should water till runoff. In my cold ambient temps and high humidity I’ve chosen to use a different approach. I actually like the results I’m getting with this brand, the taste seems cleaner than peat. I’m also going to try the canna brand, the hydro store said it had ample aeration. Interestingly the coco loco from fox farm seemed to have way more aeration than this brand, even though it contained worm castings and way less perlite.
