Ready for Harvest? 59 Days from sprout. Mephisto Double Grape, 3BOG

You think? Mephisto has both strains ripening at 60-70 days and I'm seeing a majority of milky trichomes? Then again, this is my first run, so I really don't know shit.
Use breeder "times" as a guide not the rule. It's mostly a marketing ploy. Plants are done when plants are done.
I've yet to run a breed that has finished in "breeder times".
You've still got a ways to go, I wouldn't even think about it until all the pistils have turned red and calyxes swell, don't short change yourself and harvest earlier than you need too.
Your pots look dry as hell and the plants look hungry.

That 60-70 days is flowering time. Keep them alive for another month and you'll have a lot more bud with a much better high.
When all the pistils turn brown and recede into the bud, check back in with more pics.

Gotcha. Ok. Flowering has def been tricky. I don’t know if I’ve underfed or if I caused a lockout. Right I’m trying to wrap my head around how quickly they uptake nutrients in flower and how much they need

That's the thing! I've been feeding them every week and I just fed them yesterday, so I don't know if it's not enough food or if I locked them out.

My "starters" for this years outdooor run were in 3 gallon pots in my grow room, and I had to water every 2 days because they were dry, and I wasn't nice about it, watered to around 25% runoff every time. Right now, I have to water the swamp boxes outside every 3rd day, and each plant is taking 7.5 gallons. My regimen for them is feed, feed, water, and they are taking everything I'm giving them, and then some.

Gotcha, so I might be able to up the feeding and water and they should be able to take it.

I've been giving them 1/2 gal of water with kelp, labs, & molsasses every three days and food every 6 days. So I can up that to at least a gallon of water and possibly increase the feeding to every three days as well.

What size are your pots? Half a gallon would be nowhere near enough even in a 3 gallon pot at that frequency, and they look bigger than 3 gallon. You probably have dry, hydrophobic patches that are lower in pH, causing lockout issues.

I'm running 5 gallons. I've only been doing .5 gallon because the pots end up being pretty heavy after the watering. After three days they're light again.

What do you think is the move, then? Increase amount and/or frequency of watering?

1 gal each every 2days?
2 gal each every 3 days?

I'd be increasing amount rather than frequency to start with tbh. I usually have to out around 1 gal through a five gal pot every second day in flower if it's organic and runoff isn't needed, and a bit more if it can be ran off. But every plant and environment has their own rhythm.

I put half a gallon through my 3 gallon pots every second day ATM and I'm only 15 days in, and 11 days on the other. I'm not getting any runoff yet (well a few drops here and there)

Doing well for that timeframe though. My autos are usually only third week flower and barely stacking by then. I might check out that strain in the future...

Last one in the same timeframe was only just starting to stack.

Gotcha. I'll get the water up and see how it treats me.

They girls were super healthy through veg and early flower at 1/2 gal of water - looked just like this - which is why I didn't think anything of it until recently as things started turning. It would make sense it's not enough and there are dry spots causing a lockout. Hopefully a new watering regime will fix that.

My girls started showing sex around day 22 and then a week later were in flower so they've been at it for about a month. In that time, though, they've been pretty stagnant growth wise - thought maybe they were using energy to get dense until the leaves started turning at a healthy clip.

I would def recommend double grape - she's a beauty. Def prettier than the 3BOG.

Figured an update would be appropriate. After all was said and done we had the following dry yields:
  • Double Grape: 81 grams
  • 3 Bears OG Pheno 1 : 60 grams
  • 3 Bears OG Pheno 2 : 62 Grams
  • 3 Bears OG Pheno 3 : 81 grams
The pics are after a 30 day cure.

Smoke Report:
- Double Grape represents nearly 100% of what I've been chasing the past decade: A great overall high accompanied by a very clear head space.
- 3 Bears OG is similar to Double Grape but a bit stonier.
- Both smoke like a sativa

Vape Report:
- Both strains vape incredibly well. The DC Elev8r delivers a first hit that tastes like a nuanced floral bouquet that's almost sweet on the back of the tongue.
-At 470F, both strains act more like an indica.

Overall Impression
For a first grow, yielding a little over 10-ozs was better than I expected. However, the quality of the yield wasn't uniform. The 3rd pheno of 3BOG developed an airy bud structure - almost as if the whole plant was larfy - with no density at all. I'll use that for edibles.

I love that vaping really brings out the indica in both strains.

Next Grow: 30 Gal no-till jack herer feminized photoperiod
