Hey man,
Are the 27 watt daylight CFL's that have about 1600 lum each low profile and low heat output? Would they fit in a stealth pc case style grow?
I think a four foot shop light would be too big, though 5000 lumens would be sweet
A 400 watt HPS is out of the question due to heat issues in such a small space. Of course if I did have the space an HPS would definately be the best bet.
I currently have (not set-up) 3 x 9 watt Energy Efficient CFL bulbs that are 400 lums each. They were very cheap and an impulse buy. They will at least keep the plant in veg for the moment, as it is just a sprout. Due to limited space the energy efficient bulbs can be placed closer to the plants to prevent stretching. I also intend to LST the plant to maximise light distribution and conserve yet more space.
Two 27 watt daylight CFL lights sounds like my best bet i'll look into it. I live in the UK and haven't found a sufficient wattage bulb yet. It is a small space however.
I already know about light temperature from Uni but thanks man. The 'temporary' 400 Lum CFL are 2700k. I got that right at least
I'm using an LED mixed Blue and Red bulb at the moment on my first grow.
As far as the environment being correct it has Mylar lined walls and the
humidity and temperature haven't been measured yet as I have just started my grow.
I don't wanna take up any more space on this thread so if any one has any good advise for me come over to my first grow journal
