I went to Menard's and saw this Kick-Ass Blower.
It's a Stanley 3 Speed Squirrel Cage Blower.
This Baby Moves Some Air.
All you need is an Reducer
like 6"x4" is what I put on mine.
You can also get that at Menard's back in the Heating stuff.

The Blower is $39.95
the Reducer was like $4.00

I seen the prices they wanted for blowers on most hydro sites
and said "screw that".

I don't know How many CFMs (It moves a lot of air)

How did you go about mounting this blower in your room? I was looking at the same one but since my cab is on the small side I couldn't come up with anything. Some pics to show how you did it would be awesome man. Thanks

Try typing in "stanley blower" into google and you could see how some people have mounted it. Pretty good idea, you can't beat that price!

IDK about the amperage part, but ive read the CFM specs somewhere else and those sound right to me.

i read another thread where the guy used one fan to exhaust his room and cool his lights. the blower has intakes on both sides, he rigged one side to his light and the other vented his room. when i upgrade my room i think im gonna go this route.

the only concern i have is running it full time, its not built for full time usage is it?

I don't think so. But I'm not sure if you need ventilation running all the time. Maybe you could have it setup for being on 45 minutes on every hour? Just a thought.

heres more of the blower set up
Mostly just hot glue, and duck tape
acrylic light panel, and some foil insulation
the blower, 4" dryer foil hose, 6" x 4" Reducer

I just made a box and put my lights in it.
You could probly do something like this with a HPS/MH
with a bigger box, or some high temp glass instead of the acrylic

cut an exhaust vent in the back and hot glues it air tight
cut some holes in the side with a hole saw.
them I made a baffle box for air intake, theres 3 baffles
in it to cut down on the light that can escape or enter.

The double sided foil insulation is sweet, just hot glue it in place.
everything I used to make this was bought at Menard's

I have some more things to do to it. like support the Arcylic lens better.
maybe with some cardboard and hot glue. Hey what ever works, what ever you have to work with.

Thanks a lot for the pics topfuel29, they have this blower at my local wal-mart for $34.99 so I might be picking it up in the next few days. Was the 6" to 4" reducer and 4" dryer duct easy to find? Did you find these in your hardware store or did you order online?

the 4" dryer duct hose is at wal-mart
the 6" x 4" reducer won't be at wal-mart
either menard's, or your Local heating supply store will have it.
I can't say if home depot will, or any other big one.

You could Hot Glue a 6" flexible heating pipe to the blower to.
The intake hole size is like 5 3/4" so a 6" works good.
if you have a hard time finding a reducer you might be able to make it
work another way.

Well I have 6" flexible ducting so do you think I could use that and the blower to air cool my light? I am currently using a 6 inch inline duct booster fan but that doesn't compare to this blower in the CFM category. Should I just get a piece of 6 inch rigid ducting and hot glue that to the blower and attach my flexible duct to the solid duct?

Yes it will work.
I hot glue dryer vent, air tight
you just have to use the low setting on your hot glue gun
and use low temp. hot glue.

The stuff you have is metal right? if its metal then The Hot setting on your glue gun.
it will work, as long as your not to agressive with moving the connection where it's hot glued.

how many watts is that thing? if its .85 at max, that means its along about 100 watts

so i got mine last week and its pretty awesome , its quite but now after about a week of having it i woke up today and it was barely blowing at all on setting 1 , its been on for about 6 days straight , no mods done to it at all. anyone have any issues like this?
