Got any pics of a textbook SOG of your own?
my definition of both seem to be very different

sog--- sea of green:as many plants as you can fit in your area, little to no veg time, replace them with new plants ASAP and keep a perpetual going.

scrog--- screen of green: plants are ttrained to grow horizontally along a screen and weaved in and out. bud sites are oriented to wards the light, when screen is filled up in veg, flip to flower.

That is correct. Your definition is no different than mine

Alright so I looked it up. Yall are all correct, I was incorrect. When I learn or think I learn something that has no effect on grow outcome like terms I dont take the time to ever properly research. I was under the impression scrog was just a alternative term for a trellis net. The beginner's I mentioned would use scrog and be corrected in that way. As scrog is just the use of a trellis net. It is however the meaning I used was not correct.

I’ve tried multiple times to scrog.. they seem to get out of control, even when supercropping, tying back leaders, weaving, etc… maybe I’m just vegging too long, but I flip when they hit the net.. maybe it’s just the pheno. Had this one for a few years. 33DDDE9F-6DF7-471B-8068-A7F54A6F5537.jpeg4606FE58-6A99-4E6B-8634-A0A68A717463.jpeg

but I flip when they hit the net.
a real scrog is when they are already in the net.

i read this along time ago about a scrog: say you have a 1 yd by 1 yd metal fencing. you start your plant at the 6 oclock position on a imaginary clock face. then as it grow you are weavng the branches in and out as they to the 9 and 3 oclock positions. then as it finally gets all filled up at the 12 oclock , then you flip to 12/12.

your screen is really almost like a woven rug of branches.
