True story... I had been in the car biz for 32 years before retiring to grow weed. There's this thing called "True cost of Ownership"... this dude came in to trade his 2003 Ford Excursion with 378K miles on it. I did some math on it and came up with ... cost of the vehicle at the time, insurance, tires every 50K miles, oil changes, and no other maintenance. .. it cost that dude almost $250,000.00 to drive it that far. $120,000 of that was just diesel .. and I figured it at an average of $3.69 a gallon.

Too bad that Ford had to re-design the 7.3 diesel motor to a 6.0 (shit motor) due to EPA regs... those things were bullet proof. But of course after so many failures, they went on to built the 6.4, and now the current 6.7.. which is a pretty good (but complicated) motor... I used to could fix my 7.3, but the current 6.7 is too complex to work on.

Speaking of true cost of ownership, my EV (Nissan Leaf) has paid off amazingly well. Very little maintenance, no oil changes, brakes last a long time, inexpensive to fuel. I bought it lightly used for $11k a few years ago, and now the resale value is $16k, even after the additional 20k+ miles I've put on it.

I hear ya brother.. My F150 Platinum is worth 8K more than I paid for it over 5 years ago (only 57K miles), I have no idea what the Fusion Hybrid is worth, I haven't checked on that one because we use it so much. No maintenance on the Fusion other than oil changes at 106K miles (no brakes so far). but half the time we run on total electric to run into town, so we only change it every 6 months, or 8000 miles. If Im gonna go sling weed, I take the Fusion. When I need soil, I take my truck.

@PJ Diaz I did the math on a "full tank" of electric.. we can go 21 miles for about 63 cents in electric costs.... It's just under 9 cents per KWH here.. Otherwise, it still gets an average of 47mpg.

That's crazy man!.. I can run a 20x30 grow op, the residence, and well pump water for about $550 average. Some months are $400, some during flower are $800 running dehuyes (them bitches burn the amps) ... I need to find a good used Quest 255. They only pull like 7 amps, whereas my 3 dehuyes pull 19 amps.

I get special EV rates, which are much cheaper for off-peak hours, so I run my lights during that time too:

Otherwise the normal rates look like this:

The CO-OP that I belong to does not give 2 shits about what time you use it...it's the same cost 24/7. Matter of fact, I get a (small) check in the mail every year from my electric company if they have an excess of income.... it buys me a tank of gas anyways. Im essentially a "shareholder".. so they gotta pay dividends.

One Us gallon is 3.7 litters. Almost 3.8.
we’re not running averages here. It’s a grow site. You don’t average out your nutes to nearest the ten.

but I thought we had it bad in the states. Essp in SoCal. We at 7 bucks a gallon average. And rising. But damn Canada. Average is about 8-9 a gal.. you guys have alternate transportation and shit right?. Like sled dogs
