Any info or links on how to install diy mr cool mini split in a grow tent?
yes a 10x10 i think my biggest problem now is going to be the wiring to the panel outside and then to the main electrical panelI would push the tent against a wall, screw the mounting plate for the indoor unit though the tent into the wall studs and cut a hole in the tent to run the lineset into the wall. you could also run the lineset out one of the duct ports but you will need to have good drop for the condensate drain line so that could be tricky. you could run the drain line to a condensate pump inside the tent though. I am assuming this is a pretty big tent?
Yeah getting the wiring outside can be a bit of a pain, especially if you have thick brick or block walls to go through, or some other kind of obstruction, like having to fish it through finished walls.yes a 10x10 i think my biggest problem now is going to be the wiring to the panel outside and then to the main electrical panel

thanks i have the install on point but its the wiring is where iam at a stand still...trying to understand the wiring from the main electrical panel inside to the AC disconnect outside. Diy Mr cool wiring to the ac disconnect outside its pretty straightforward i have that part...I’ve installed several of the mr cool splits, they work great. Like someone else said tent against the wall. I’d paint a piece of ply wood white that’s slightly bigger than the head unit. Screw that to the wall, then the head unit to that.
Did you have any specific questions about sizing or install.
And you will only need one power source, it’s for the outside unit, the wire that comes with the unit connects the two units and supplies the power to indoor unit.
So depending on the size of the unit, you would use a 10 or 12 gauge wire with the appropriate breaker, to a non fused disconnect. Then you want a whip kit to go from disconnect to the unit. I found it easier to wire up if you crimp some Y shaped connectors to the end of the wires going to outside unit, they slide under the screws better than larger gauge wire. (Mine is a 3 ton so might not be as bad in smaller wire sizes)
The line set is easy just make sure your spinning the coupling that moves and are holding the other side tight so it doesn’t loosen as you tighten the coupling. Once you start tightening you need to get it done fast.
It’s easier to hang the head units with help, but I’ve done it alone. Feeding the line set thru the wall will require two people so you don’t damage it. Only roll off as much as you need, you won’t be able to roll it back up near as neatly and could possibly make a bend.

Like needing specifics as opposed to hold your hand so I can avoid using any contractors even if we have no idea your mechanical aptitude
Respect is earned not given
Plenty of people can do it but since I can’t type hunt and peck to answer such basic vague questions it is a huge pain in the arse
yes ...now you know exactly what iam referring to but can"t jus have anybody around my property understand what i meanprobably best to find an electrician. i installed a mr cool unit in my room a 2ton/24,000 btu there simple to put in. i dont mess with electrical though i had a licensed guy come upgrade the panel to 200amp then installed a 30 amp flip box and the circuit for the mini split. do you have room in your panel?
What size mini split?thanks i have the install on point but its the wiring is where iam at a stand still...trying to understand the wiring from the main electrical panel inside to the AC disconnect outside. 2tonWhat size mini split?
yea i know exactly what you mean so put your tents and lights away. have an electrician come and wire up the split. cut the tent around the split after the electrical work is done. seems like the most logical thing to me the electrician isnt going to care what the a/c is for. it shouldnt be difficult to move your gear to a garage or a bedroom while the electrical work happensyes ...now you know exactly what iam referring to but can"t jus have anybody around my property understand what i mean

30 amp double pole breaker(check for brand and type of breaker in your current box.2ton
thank you30 amp double pole breaker(check for brand and type of breaker in your current box.
#10 2 -1 wire to and outside non fused disconnect,
From the disconnect to the unit you will run a ac whip also #10 gauge, can find by the non fused disconnect in most hard ware stores.
Those wires are easier to attach if you crimp a Y shape crimp on the end of the wires to slide under the screws.
