For those who SCROG.. How many times do you tend to Top?

3 plants, 3x3 tent, Topped once so far and was thinking doing it 2-3 times. Noob but not a complete noob. First one since 2011 and only did 2 grows then. First time in a tent (so cool this tent environment is..)..

While yes, it would be cool to slap my Son across the face with some giant donky dick big single cola, I'm thinking a lot more medium size ones would actually produce more of the medicinal herbary?

When I did a scrog I topped 3 times.

For a SCROG grow, I will top only twice.

Once early in the grow to get two main branches going laterally. One more top - really it's more like a trim - of the taller branches when the screen is filled just before they go into 12/12. That 2nd trim keeps the canopy as flat and even as possible so that majority of the tops are the same distance from the lights.

Fully spread and on her way into FLOWER:




And about 14 days from chop:



With good lights, you can get some donkey dicks with a SCROG.

That’s just two toppings? Very nice! Not sure how great my lights are (Spider Farmer ES5000) but i’ll give ‘em all she’s got Captain! So, I guess after the second one I should start training things to go horizontal so all the sides can grow up to the top as well to make that many tops?? Never done it but I’m patient and can take all the time I need to train (although I’m always afraid I’m gonna break stuff, LOL)..

Reply much later ... a wicked t-storm just rolled through and knocked out the power - and the phone battery is getting low.

Lots of big trees down so we are not sure when our juice will be back on.

An update folks. The power was knocked out this past Saturday @ about 2:00 PM. The juice is to be restored tonight @ 11:00 PM. Some quick math tells me the two girls have been without light for 5 days and nearly 3 hours. Not much is visible down there but there has been a little daylight coming in through a basement window and I am pretty sure that they have tried to stretch towards that weak light source. In other words, they will look lanky AF.

Once the power is back on, I am going to cut all that top shit off and VEG a little longer to see if I can produce some decent growth. Then it's taking some cuts and rebooting this SCROG. *** SIGH! *** Well ... at least the power didn't crap out 6+ weeks into BLOOM. If it did, I would be sounding like Yosemite Sam on steroids about now.

Anyone else have a similar tale of the derecho from last Saturday?

Not scrogging, but I’ve topped these gals a bunch so far, probably flipping in a week or two.

I would/do top to limit branching if/when required but mostly I just tie them over topping is rarely required.
