Judge rejects Trump’s attempt to halt $10K-a-day contempt fines
Earlier this week, Judge Arthur Engoron ruled that Trump would be fined $10,000 each day after he was found in contempt of court for not complying with a subpoena from New York Attorney General Letitia James (D).

James is investigating whether Trump’s business falsified the value of assets illegally for financial gain. Engoron criticized Trump on Tuesday for making “boilerplate objections” to the subpoena and apparently not making a good faith or thorough effort to find requested materials.

The former president “has not yet purged his contempt,” Engoron said in his ruling on Friday, noting that statements from Trump’s counsel were “insufficient in that they failed to specify who searched for each respective request, at what time, where, and using what search protocols; it is not sufficient simply to attach a list of people who participated in the searches.”

Engoron said in his ruling that there was no “useful detail” included in Trump’s personal affidavit regarding where he kept documents, who might have access to them and where they could be stored.

“Moreover, counsel’s claim that her conversations with [Trump] about the locations of the subpoena are covered by attorney-client privilege is without merit,” the New York judge added.

He similarly rejected arguments from Trump that the former president’s failure to comply with James’s subpoena had not been shown to be “calculated to defeat, impair, impede, or prejudice” the New York attorney general’s investigation.

“As this Court has previously noted, each day that passes without compliance further prejudices OAG, as the statues of limitations continue to run and may result in OAG being unable to pursue certain causes of action that it otherwise would,” Engoron said in his ruling.

The ruling means that Trump will continue to be fined $10,000 each day until he satisfies his obligations related to James’s subpoena.

Esper: Trump asked about shooting protesters ‘in the legs or something’ after George Floyd death
Former Defense Secretary Mark Esper says that former President Trump asked authorities if they could shoot protesters in the legs amid the demonstrations that filled the streets of Washington following the death of George Floyd.

“Can’t you just shoot them? Just shoot them in the legs or something?” Esper says Trump said.

Esper’s revelation from his new memoir “A Sacred Oath” — first seen by Axios — uncovers more details about their rocky relationship during the nationwide racial protests in 2020, as Esper publicly opposed Trump’s threat to deploy active-duty troops.

Trump: GOP is 'Party of Common Sense,' 'Party of the American Dream'
Stumping for Pennsylvania Senate GOP primary candidate Dr. Mehmet Oz, former President Donald Trump hailed Tuesday's primary results and called the America First GOP the "party of common sense" and the "party of the American dream."

"We have a country that's in big trouble," Trump said at a rainy Save America rally in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, which aired live on Newsmax. "Tuesday's primary results: They're just the latest proof that we have transformed the face of the Republican Party. Thank goodness.

"We are now the working people's party. But we're really the party of everyone. We're the party, you know what? We're the party of common sense."

Esper recalls ‘outlandish’ Trump foreign policy proposals in new memoir
Mark Esper, the former secretary of Defense under President Trump, says that the former president proposed a number of “outlandish” foreign policy proposals while he was in the White House, including pulling troops out of South Korea and shutting down embassies in Africa, according to an excerpt from Esper’s upcoming memoir.

In a new excerpt, shared by Politico, Esper wrote that shortly after he was hired to be the new Pentagon chief in 2019, Trump was railing against NATO and corruption in Ukraine, two personal issues that the rest of the national security and foreign policy team tried to tamp down because they weren’t considered leading concerns at the time.

Trump also said he wanted a “complete withdrawal” of forces from South Korea and that he wished to “bring our people home” from embassies in Africa, according to Esper.

What a fucked-up joke of a political system.

If you Yankees could step back and see what you and your country have become, through the eyes of an outsider, you would be so ashamed and embarrassed.
Dysfunction, hatred and lies in the name of power, with not a single thought of the actual citizens they were elected to represent.

And don't act like you are better because you are a Democrat. Y'all play the same games and dirty tricks as the other guys.
are we criticizing the government of upper bumfuck or where ever you're from? and don't act like you aren't a hypocrite, because where ever you are from, there are just as many good, and just as many bad politicians, just as many good, sane considerate people, and just as many self centered, selfish, greedy, power hungry fucks...

Are you surprised? These are the same people who gave the grifter family trump their life savings to stop the steal.
Gave the means to nuke America at will to Vlad too. I can see Donald on the phone with Vlad discussing the new Trump tower in Moscow while the missiles flew and the generals franticly tried reaching Trump. Vlad could talk the simpleton out of a counter strike no problem. Treason is not an issue for republicans these days and it has been repeatedly proven in public. Odd considering there is only one country with thousands of nukes pointed at them and Trump and the republicans were owned by them, took money from them and collaborated with them to destroy American democracy.

But perhaps I'm being too harsh?

Last time I checked they didn't storm the capitol, engage in insurrection, sedition and treason like the republicans did. They didn't pass laws denying people human rights, much less constitutional ones, like voting and control over one's own body. They also don't promote hate and bigotry to gain power from fools, bigots and racists always fuck themselves, because con artists always use their character flaws against them. Blow the dog whistle and ya own them, even a POS moron like Trump could easily own them and still does. Racism turns people into suckers and their brains off, makes them fools and fear driven fanatics too.

Company buying Truth Social warns investors about Trump business failures
In the registration filed by Digital World Acquisition Corp (DWAC) — a special purpose acquisition company that has raised over $1 billion — and Trump Media & Technology Group (TMTG), the groups also warned that the Securities and Exchange Commission could still halt the merger.

The merger document, known as an S4, details several risks related to Trump’s chairmanship of TMTG.

“A number of companies that were associated with President Trump have filed for bankruptcy,” the document warns, listing Trump Shuttle, University, Vodka, Mortgage and Steaks.

Among other risk factors included in the filing is that Trump is “involved in numerous lawsuits and other matters that could damage his reputation.”

The filing noted the former president is “generally obligated” to post on Truth Social, where he has roughly 2.7 million followers, and “not make the same post on another social media site for 6 hours.”

However, there is an exception to that requirement for “political messaging, political fundraising or get-out-the-vote efforts.”

Much of Truth Social’s appeal has come from Trump’s presence on the platform, which differentiates it from other “free speech” focused social media such as Parler or Gettr.

Trump spokesperson says she’ll stop using Twitter
Liz Harrington, a spokesperson for former President Trump, said on Tuesday she would stop using Twitter, a platform she has used to deliver messages from the former president, who is banned from the site.

“I will soon no longer be posting on Twitter. This is a terrible website that is beyond fixing. TRUTH will soon be available to everyone when its web application launches,” she wrote.

“Be sure to follow me there @realLizUSA,” she added, along with a screenshot from Trump’s Truth Social account, where he says “Leave Twitter and get the TRUTH!!!”

Trump urges Oz to declare victory despite Pennsylvania Senate race being too close to call
In a post on Truth Social, the social media platform Trump founded last year, the former president said Oz should proclaim himself the winner of the contest, arguing that doing so would make it “much harder for them to cheat with the ballots that they ‘just happened to find.’”

Oz, whom Trump endorsed last month, is deadlocked with former hedge fund CEO David McCormick in the Republican Senate primary, with fewer than 3,000 votes separating the two.

If Oz and McCormick finish within 0.5 percentage points of each other, it would trigger an automatic recount under Pennsylvania’s election rules.

Fiona Hill says Putin ‘had to keep explaining things’ to Trump
Former Trump White House national security official Fiona Hill said Russian President Vladimir Putin had “to explain everything to all the time” to former President Trump.

“He had to keep explaining things, and Putin doesn’t like to do that,” Hill said this week, speaking at a Chicago Council on Global Affairs event in remarks reported by Insider.

Hill added that Putin intentionally chose to invade Ukraine during President Biden’s tenure in the White House.
