Hps and mh destroyed my eyes in past decades. At least thats my excuse.

yes those lights arent good.. i got lil yellow growths on my eyeballwithin a few weeks of just going in to do watering etc. similar buildup damage from sun and snow. thankfully they go away if not too severe. i have a 630 cmh ballast and bulb f/s if anyone wants that junk.

Those 630s can do a great job, l like hps but leds are far superior. Id love to try the cmh though.

i gave it a fair chance, (4-5 years) but it took the skunk away from my road kill. fuck that! lol hps for me till i die.

I'm starting to notice I don't get the same smell or resin production under LED I used to see with hps. (IR/UV included)
I'm considering switching back on my next run to see if it's true, or just all in my head.

But no more loose bud structure, always fought heat with 1k hps. But are good to grow with. Im liking leds for the resin and growth, and tight buds no uv or ir on my lights. Why not use leds and hps as side lighting.

I think CHM makes frostier buds. But LED makes denser nugs. I think the best is a mix of both CMH and LED. But I've never tried HPS or MH with LED.

I think you don't understand the reason for sun glasses lol the sun does worse then any grow light lol

I do understand the reason for sun glasses, they make people think they look cool. My point being, get glasses for the light your growing with. If your outdoors than by all means wear sun glasses if you want.

Saw a led hps grow, 12 plant 6x6 on flip cycle and he pulls 45 lbs each crop.

I've been hps for years and now hlg 6s only problem I've seemed to have is hearing damage from loud music I'm blasting and prolly my liver from the drinking

I was recently diagnosed with AMD....Macular degeneration. I also just turned 60. It is a genetic thing but I can't help but feel grow lights progressed it. And i wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.

My vision is blurred and distorted in one eye.... It sucks worse than any ailment I have had, and I've had many. There is no treatment. Well once the bleeding starts behind the retinas they can do injections into your eyeballs to try and stop the bleeding. That is the only treatment available.

25% of the population gets AMD by age 80. I'm guessing it's higher among the grow community.

I would recommend wearing your protective glasses every second you are around your lights.

I have been using LED's, HPS and the occasional MH...and I did wear protective glasses most of the time, but not all the time.
