Ventilation issue

Hey guys, long time reader first time posting. I am currently building out a spare bedroom I have to fit two growers choice 680 LEDs. The room is approximately 10x15 ft. I will be using the central air to cool the room but the problem I have is the dehumidifier in the room gets too hot (85-90). I read a lot about how venting in the attic is bad for mold, heat, etc. But what if I were to put a carbon filter setup in the attic that pulled air from the room and through the filter? Has anyone had any issues with this route? My thought is that when the air is pulled through the filter, it’s not as hot or humid as what’s in the room. I’m thinking a 10in AC infinity would be enough to displace the room maybe even go with the 12 inch bad boy filter. Lmk what you guys think.

Carbon filters don't collect humidity my friend, and even if they did they would get saturated extremely quickly.
Can you put the dehumidifier in the attic? It will heat up the attic but at least it would be dry.

Humidity isn’t the problem, I just need a fresh air exchange. My humidity in late flower doesn’t get above 55% so I’m not too worried there. The problem is it’s 85 degrees in late flower. The AC infinity should displace that no? And when the air is pulled through the filter it’s not hot coming out the other side. What you’re saying is it doesn’t pull humidity which is actually a win for me.

why so set on venting to the attic, i think you should explore other options such as venting out a window or something more clean looking such as cutting a small hole for something such as a "dryer vent" or "furnace vent" look a like to connect your duct work to.

Well the hole would be fit with a duct/vent so it would look clean. It would look just like a regular air vent. I would obviously save the drywall piece so I can patch it a ways down the road if needed. But In the attic would be a 10in AC Infinity fan attached to a carbon filter. Which would pull hot air out of the room and through the filter in the attic. My worry is heating up my attic and putting more moisture up there. BUT the AC infinity is designed to make that hot air cooler when pulled through the filter and expelled out the other side. Window is not really an option unfortunately :/

your assumptions are correct, the duct work will have hot air in it, the air around the duct in the attic will have colder air in comparison to your vent this will cause moisture to condense which will cause mold to grow in your attic there are some photos with examples of this floating around on the forum i just cant remember how to find them at the moment but i've seen photos of this happening. vent through a wall to the outside, not through the attic.

What if I kept the duct length to a minimum? So maybe only a foot length is exposed in the attic and is cooled immediately by the filter. I live in a hot humid area anyway where my attic is already 85-90 degrees. If it gets below 60 outside I think that’s where I will have that problem. Only happens 4 weeks out of the year, spontaneously.

i suppose you could use metal duct work inside the attic, insulate the duct work. im not an insulator, i think the insulation for ductwork is fibreglass it comes in sheets i think it has an aluminum looking face on one side. i suppose if its properly insulated then condensation around the ductwork shouldnt occur. you would need to properly wrap all the ductwork thats inside the attic, you would also need some of that metal tape people use it sometimes around the ductwork near there furnace i forget the name.
