Smell issues

Something's not right
Assuming you don't have an air leak allowing smell to escape, you might need a larger filter for the cfm you're pulling.
If working correctly, there shouldn't be a noticeable smell.
It's possible, although I've gone over the connections. It seems to be worst at right before lights on so maybe a humidity thing, or it is possible the filter itself is defective, the seller actually refunded me so I could order a new one since they agreed it seemed unusual.

The filter is rated for what I'm running it at, and it's clearing the tents air out every 45 seconds or so based on cfm calculated with reductions. Maybe I need to get a larger fan and filter, this stuff is without a doubt the strongest smelling bud I've ever grown, it might be more than the 6" fan and filter can take.

It is being drawn through the filter, into the fan, and straight out the top, with a single bend, and I'm using high quality ducting from the hardware store, not the flimsy cheap stuff from Amazon.
I got some more duct tape, perhaps there is a connection that leaks a bit.
It's odd because the filter seems to handle it all most of the time, and up till now its been rock solid.

This is my first time actually using a carbon filter, so it's possible I missed something or have illusions about the capability of a 6" filter in a 4×4

Not unusual at all. I have a 900m3/h filter with a 380m3/h fan and there's always a stuffy smell in the room. The filters themselves start to have an odour few days after you start using them. I've never had a 100% odourless grow.

I just try to be discreet and realize that if I'm growing or burning it, my house will smell to a degree. I try to keep things clean and smelling like wax, oils, plug ins, sprays, candles and whatever else I come across. It's definitely to a minimum and mostly people don't seem to notice or at least don't say anything.
I don't however burn incense or anything that smokes. I feel like the added smoke makes the house just hold a burnt smell, scent makes no difference.
Other than that I just let it the freak go. It's not going to benefit me to trip out over it.
With no carbon filter i had a plant that gave 8g but you vould smell it on the street outside

Even with a carbon filter I get smell coming through near the end of flower, it stresses me out since my partner doesn't like the smell, she likes to use it though haha

Right now my grow is stinking my basement out with a carbon filter running
You probably didnt pressurise your box.meaning all the air that comes out of the box goes throu a carbon filter.you need a stronger fan or you have leaks somewhere

Nope, its very much producing negative pressure evidenced by the sides of the tent "caving in" slightly.

The air coming out of the vent that comes from the filter isn't smell free, so it's seems that the filter isn't getting it all, just like others have said happens to them.

Thanks for the suggestions anyway.

I was thinking of adding a second fan and filter to take care of it, or just getting ona.

I cranked the fan speed up and it seems to be helping. Couple weeks left so the real dank smells are coming out now

watch out with ona people say if its in the same room it will get inside the buds making it taste like ona and making it not healthy to smoke

if cranking the speed is helping then you are not pressurizing the box

An effective piece of equipment, but understandably expensive is an AirROS system. I can run 80 or so plants, and it smells like a new hotel room in there..... until you go to dry and cure it. www.airrosshield.com... then it stinks to high heaven, unless you're drying in the same room as the AirROS.
