I have to respectfully disagree with much of this post. If you water well "Before" your soil will be much looser than dry soil. Depending on your level of skill in transplanting I would recommend dry. When the soil is drier it will pull away from the sides of the container and with good roots holding the soil allows you to slide the pot from the soil.I wish you luck~But don't count on it recoveringHere some pointer so next time it will help pop'em out the potWater'em good before transplantThis helps hold the dirt togetherTake a thin knife and run it around the inside of the pot very carefullyLast but not least squeeze the bottom and the sides of the pot to loosen it up someGrip the pot from the bottom pulling the pot off the dirt & not pulling on the plant out of the pot
Yea, going to have to agree 100%. I always try to make sure all is nice and dry before touching anything. Just my two cents though.. I haven't had any problems.I have to respectfully disagree with much of this post. If you water well "Before" your soil will be much looser than dry soil. If you wish to bareroot or trim your roots then yes a moisture soil to a wet soil would be the best choice. I don't recommend this for the person new to growing unless forced to.
Once again no disrespect intended.
Happy Growing
