Light over lap question ⁉️

I just spaced my lights to mfg specs but you dont want or need a ton. Too much creates intense areas and if your overlapping middle of lights alot your losing edge coverage

It completely depends upon the space to be lit.

How high are the ceilings, what are the room dimensions? How many plants to be grown? Full cycle or separate spaces for veg and flower? CO2?

Simpler answer is spaced out so the canopy is as consistent as possible providing the exact amount of light you want available.

Measuring device + flexible hanging can allow you to find it without trying to engineer specs from a drawing.

600umols min for flower, 1000 max ideally.

I really appreciate ur answer thank u the room is approx 8*7 almost 7ft celling and I have 3 cmh 315s .. and no co2

Check out the ppfd chart. Read up on what means what and why, you will see a readout of what one unit does at a particular height. If you put another one next to it, it will overlap exactly like the chart but depending upon where you put the 2nd one, you can get consistency across 2 and then 3. Let me know if it makes sense. I.e. 300 + 300 will equal 600 combined

If it does make sense, look at ppfd charts of a 315w cmh at different heights and you can decide how and where to hang them.

Imagine your space being used and start working through the options. You can use free phone apps to measure lighting for now.
Pots use space, lights have to be hung, need space between lights and canopy, work out the basic math to design the space.

Give each 315 cmh a 3x3 footprint approx and that will give you a decent 8x3 footprint for growing with space to be able to work in the area.

if you actually want help to setup correctly let me know.

as I said earlier section your area off into an 8x3 line.

Give each light approx 3x3 with around a 6” over Lap between each light.
