First Closet Grow...NL with 600w HPS+ 4 CFL's

Sweet mate... Bet your pretty sure which ones which by now any of the others shown yet?

I'm hoping they show soon and finish around new year time (says 45-50 days on pack).

I rekon you will be lucky to crop that early mate if im honest... Ide be lookin to hit probs 60-65 days...

That'll mean a month of curing it and a sweet sesh (well,.. what's left after I've picked at it all through January) for my birthday at the end of Jan!


Any reason why your spendin so much time curing and what not? I thought it was like a week of curin and 7 - 10 days of dryin? lol

Yeah I'm pleased with the seedlings. Growing faster than the NL did. I reckon the 6500K light spectrum helps ALOT tho mate compared to whacking em straight under a hps. Gonna give em a month of veg (like the NL) and stick em straight into flower with the current ones. Get a new set of seedlings off (or hopefully a couple of female cuttings) when I do that and I reckon I'll have myself a lil perpetual smoke thing goin on lol. 1 month in veg and 2 months in flower. I'll have 2 sets a month apart in to flower whilst the newbies start off in the veg closet. With the curing takin a month too I'm thinking this should work.

I thought mine were to be honest but then ive looked at the NL now and its a massive difference compared to the others they are short and stout and the bagseed is a bit taller and more thinner leaves etc etc. All comin along quite fast now mind!

Ive taken pics of em all ready to post up but my widnows was fucked so ive had to reboot the pc so im just downloadin the software for ma fone now!!!! Not as big as yours mind but i think ive really got the temp right this time! cuz they are racing along compared to any time ive done it before! rekon the changin the room around really made a difference! the one ive been abusin is comin along mint now! Ill stick pics up once software has downloaded...

Thats my plan kinda but not as much as you i aint sellin any except swappin me mate an oz for his xbox 360 and thats all good cuz he only smokes it at mine lol! Rekon ill see how this one goes and make my decision on how soon to start again... Gonna try a few strains before i start clonin n stuff. get my knowledge up a bit! defo scroggin next time tho havin so much soil made a massive diff to temp too so its lovely in there now...

Mate i would of gone up the wall!!! My mate sells blue cheese and its fuckin lethal and me other mate does real nice green no idea what it is but its kushty so i aint coplainin! hes gonna try get me some blue cheese cuttins too so that would be awesome if he can!

Thats actually the reason y i am doin it the guy we used to get it off just took the piss so i started collectin stuff for it! and im here now!

got a few more pics. They are really gettin big now and I'm running out of room in the closet!! . Still not 100% sure of sex on them all but I'd say I def got 3 females. I think! lol. Let me know what you all think on the male/female issue. The pictures aren't great I'm afraid, the flash fucks it up and they're too dark if I don't use it.

IT'S OFFICIAL!! 5 OUT OF 5 FEMALES!! From non-feminized seeds on my first attempt! Pretty pleased about that, altho i'm a bit screwed now as there ain't no room left to put the 2 young plants under the 600w. Meh,.. I don't really give a shit. The more females the merrier!

Looks like there'll be some comparisons in the future now tho as I'll have to continue to grow and flower the younger plants under the 4 CFL's until the first lot have finished. Got the right bulbs for the job (4 6500K and 4 2700K) but I know 4 ain't gonna be enough. Watch this space (for fluffy CFL bud lol)!! Still, it's only 2 plants and so long as I get a good harvest of this first 5 I'll be a happy man; and they'll get 4 or 5 weeks of the 600w at the end of their flowering period once I harvest the first lot.

So all of 'em are blatantly beginning to bud now and there's shitloads of hairs coming out. The one that began all fucked up and small 6 weeks ago is by far the best performer now, and you can see bud starting to form practically everywhere on it! BRING ON THE GREEN! I'll try get a few pics on later

Mint news on the plants mine are comin along nicely now and guess what? they look like yours this time lol it seems to me that putting all that soil and buckets in there and moving the light really effected em!

I just keep looking at your closet n hopin i get a very similar turn out with two different breeds... Get them pics up lets ave a nosey at em!!! lol

SWEET! this is by far the funnest time of the grow, when the buds begin to take shape and the smell of bud fills the grow space! From the pics of the node sites, I can see a couple of very small hairs/pistils on each, so they are all definitely female!
Looks like they are thriving in that light setup.. I would even add a few hanging cfls and snip off the branches which eventually do not show that much bud development (to give more sugars and more light to the upper budding sites).. good luck!

And cheers for all the other messages guys. I would love to add the CFLs to the setup, but I gotta keep the young ones under them now. I'd planned to move the 2 younger plants to the HPS closet one I'd identifid a couple males, but err,.. well as there weren't no males,..the cupboard is too full so the CFLs are still needed to keep the young skunks going. Think its definitely worth me snipping some lower branches on the NL soon tho. They just aren't gettin any light. I'll wait a while longer yet tho to see if I'm gettin any bud from them.

Couldn't take anymore pics tonight. They were all lookin a lil limp as they needed water n feed so i'll get some pics when they're back at their best tomorrow.

Well.... As it happens lol we went through half oz in two days between 3 of us so it was a fair messy weekend lol but no man my pc is being so gay! And i cant get a new telephone line put in till ive sorted my bills out that ive got now! Hence the reason im growin not buyin lol

Loads different this time matey... LOADS! They are bigger, more bushy, darker colour and the leaves are loads fatter a lot more like yours! ive still got a bit of a heat issue i think but i cant afford to sort it just yet so it can wait for now!

Managed to get some good pics earlier and also the other day, so here goes! Gotta keep people interested! lol

They're getting some good bud sites ALL over as well. Hopefully you can see that in some of the pics. Not smelling much yet though, but that time will come I guess. I'm getting so impatient now I can actually see bud growing,.. altho not as impatient as my missus! I'll have to make sure she keeps her hands off it! no early harvesting!!! lol

Latest pics attached! Not much to report really, temps staying around 77-78F in the day, dropping to around 65-70F during lights-out. They're def beginning to smell a lil more strongly tho which is all good. And there are more decent bud sites appearing every day. They're drooping a bit in the pics too as it's watering/feeding time again tonight.



No pics of the Sensi skunk today, I've kinda neglected them for a few days and they were dropping real bad when i checked them this morning. fair bit of yellowing on the bottom leaves too. They've picked up alot (in terms of droopyness) now but I'm planning on transplanting them tomorrow and shuffling all the lights around so I'll get some pics of the sensi skunk up then.

I've been readin that if I chop some of the excess branching all around the bottom It'll promote more growth n food n shit to the upper buds. What's anyones opinion on this?? My plants are really bushy and there's definitely not enough light gettin right to the bottom. But there's shoots from the bottom which def have bud growing (albeit at a slower rate). If I prune these small slow-forming buds, will the tops ones grow more quickly and ultimately be bigger? I don't wanna lose any bud!!! lol. Should I do some pruning around the bottom of all the plants or should I just leave em be and not fuck around with 'em? That's been my theory so far,.. and to be honest it's worked pretty well. There's pics on the above posts to see how bushy they are.

PHUCK YEA, BRO!! My bad, haven't checked in for a while. Your shit is looking Primo. That leaf on the left in the last pic looks the size of a basketball!! Can you put something recognizable close to it so I can see just how big that shit is? I didn't catch your nute lineup. Now would be the time to start adding a bloom booster. Something with low or zero N and very high P-K. The best ones I've used are AN overdrive which is 1-5-4 and Ionic Boost 0-5-6. I also hear AN Hammerhead 0-9-18 does incredible stuff. You want to reduce the dosage of your base nute to cut N and boost P and K through the roof for super fat buds.

And I think you know my answer to the pruning question. My plants are even more spaced apart than yours and I still chop the bottom 1/3 off. Those bottom buds will grow long pistils for sure but they will never have the green bud material swell up around them. I'm telling you from experience, getting rid of those bottom buds will make the tops ones fatter. My bottom branches on my present plants are like the top colas from my first plants.

Thanks Mared! I'm crossing my fingers for a harvest like yours! I'm pleased that mine are looking pretty similar to yours at the same stage. and yeah that leaf is a monster! I'll get a pic of it by a football so u can compare

I'm using the Ionic range of nutes. Used the 'Grow' formula from about 2 weeks, then moved to 'Bloom' about 3 weeks ago. I have the 'Boost' also, but thought it was for the last 2 or 3 weeks. Should I be using it now then Mared?

And cheers for the definitive answer on pruning. I'm still a tad scared to do it, especially with this being my first grow, but think I'm gonna have to. Thing is, on a couple of plants (especially the best one - nearest right on pics and REALLY green) from the very first node there is shoots going right to the top of the plant with decent buds on them. I don't wanna be chopping those,.. but should i strip them a bit and get rid of the poor bud sites coming off the main shoot??
