16/8 vs 18/6 Any Noticeable Difference, other than your power bill?

I see that everyone recommends to grow veg on a photoperiod Plant at 18/6 until it's time to switch to the bloom cycle.

But since my grow area is near my bed, and I would like to save power as well and actually get some sleep..lol.. I'm thinking that for me 16/8 would be a better deal.

I've been looking at the threads and I see that some people do have pretty good success in fact even sometimes more depending on the light source.

So I would like to know if any of you have done 16/8versus 18/6 and what your thoughts are on that?

Light type, wattage, configuration and distance at what stage of veg? A 23 W t5 will will do amazing for 72 cube tray at 6-10". And cheap. Once potted it becomes the variables I stated.

What are you trying to do with what lights?

Okay I'm aware of this. ☮

Currently my umols/par levels are 200-300

Which is the range for seedlings.

I'm actually running my lights at about 25%

But my question was.

Can I do 16/8 versus 18/6

If the amount of light time doesn't matter then why do people choose to do 18-6?

We know that it matters for bloom cycle of course.

I don't want to run the lights until 2:00 in the morning I have to sleep obviously.

So that's why I was thinking that the 16/8 would be okay.☮

My photo only looks bright because of the way my pictures are taking pictures..lol

Yeah but what is the ideal veg honestly?

I want to get the best yield and the best grow that's closer to nature.

In the summertime outdoors we get 15 hours here in San Francisco.

Am I really going be to be getting better yeilds by adding 2+ more hours?

I'm just wondering if it's worth it.

Purple Haze genetics ,they grow near the equator right? They are used to temp/light in the Columbia Area.

It's always 12/12 there or just about... So how do they not go into flower?Screenshot_2022-03-12-23-30-07-342.jpg
