aka dont use computer fans. they're small and ineffective you get waaaay more cfm from box fans and it'll be cheaper. if a box fan is too large for your area try a duct fan or a door frame fan from home depot cpu fans are really pointless and expensive and people just try and get creative and try something that really doesn't work. just keep it simple

this seems kinda sketchy to me...
usually PC fans dont run on any were near that voltage

This is a picture of the fan from parts express in action. It really is 115 volts. It's a good fan and it works great for my application. I'm not saying it's the end-all be-all.

the way you have it that fan is very inefficient. fans work when there's air behind it. you have that fan flesh against the wall which isn't really using its full potential

Actually, the fan is blowing air out of the cabinet, through the wall in the picture, and into a filter box on the outside of the light cabinet. If the fan weren't in motion you would be able to see through the blades into the filter box. I can put up a picture of the filter box if you would like to see.

This is the other side of the fan in the previous picture. The door closes on the outside of this filter cabinet so the air is forced from the fan, down through the baffles and out the bottom. The screen baffles are on opposite sides to muffle the sound of the fan, which is quite effective. The dark chunks are activated charcoal. The charcoal sits down on the screens normally but I was experimenting when this picture was taken.

how many watts are you running for a fan that size? your temps stay good?

I'm running a 400 watt HPS. My temps are a little on the high side, 85ish, right now. Improving that is one of my three projects for tomorrow. I have another one of those fans. I'm not sure yet if I'm going to enlarge the area of the screen filters, add another fan in parallel, or add another fan in series.

My other problem is night time temps. Last night I dipped down to 62, and that's without the fan on. I need to insulate my cabinet or find a way to heat it at night.

I also have a humidity issue. I'm only at about 20%. The air in the cabinet is being turned over several times a minute so the cabinet air is sort of destined to be only as humid as the air in the rest of the room.

I bought a wireless thermometer/hygrometer (see pic). I love this thing. I can take it anywhere in the house and know that my babies are cool.

62 is straight. you might see some purple if you can get it down a little lower
