Nextlight owners

Hi.

I bought a Nextlight Mini about 5 years ago and just now got it out and set up in my new Gorilla tent (Shorty). The light is great. The hangers on it SUCK! But it does fit the tent nicely and I'm hoping for some good results. It sure is nice to not have any fans on the light. It gets kinda warm but not bad at all. Just basic "soft white" and "daylight" whites....but really bright....no UV or reds, etc...just basic white light

I had intended on buying a new fixture from HLG back then, but I couldn't keep up with all the advancements that kept superseding the previous model...too confusing...waited as long as I thought I could ....but got sidetracked and wasn't able get back to growing for a few years so I just bought the Nextlight and it ended up sitting dormant. HLG is probably a much nicer light, but I really like the Nextlight now that I finally have it set up.

Anyone else use one? Feedback on it?

I have 4 NextLights. 2 Mini and 2 Core. The Minis have been rocking non-stop for about 5 years. I like them a lot. They are solid lights. I use each one over basically a 2x2 space, 1 per plant / 5g pot. There might be better ways to use them but that has been working for me. Good luck

Well....two years later....My Nextlight is still running very well. I am looking into the newer Core as well as the new square-shaped light. They don't seem to get many reviews online but their specs are awesome...the warranty is awesome....and they have been around for several years. I'm not quite sure why they don't get the raves, but I'd buy their product again.

I couldent find anything on what brand of diodes they use, but i like the design they look slick. Alittle pricy but not too crazy.

I think they are now using some proprietary diodes made exclusively for the Nextlights -same thing for their new drivers. My older fixture has Samsung diodes. All I know is that their specs are great and they are willing to back the lights with a 5-year warranty, which is 2 years more than a lot of other manufacturers. But SAYING that you have a 5 year warranty is only good if you've proven that you're a company that's been around long enough. If your company is only 1 or 2 years old and you make a claim of a 5-year warranty, then buyer beware! Anyway, I would love to get some more customer reviews if any other Nextlight owners are looking in on this thread.

Yes, Nick builds quality lights no question. I don't know what diodes he's currently using? Haven't asked either. His spd had always stayed the same 3k/5k blend if I remember correctly.

The numbers look lower compared to the comp, but he isn't bumping paper specs, instead he relies on the in house sphere for system eff. + Keeping strict ul listing.

Oh cool! That's good to know. Yes, the Nextlight Mini that I currently use has been a really great, no-frills kind of tool. It's a simple design that the plants really like a lot.

I still have my old Area 51 light from back in 2013 and I'm running it side-by-side with my Nextlight Mini. The Mini pulls somewhere around 160 watts and the Area 51 pulls about 125 watts (with both the white and red diodes running)...So, that's ~285 watts in my 40" x 40" tent. I only have 2 plants in flower ATM, so my light requirements are smaller than usual. I rotate the plants everyday so that each plant gets some of what each light has to offer. The Area 51 white diodes put out a different color white than the Nextlight's combination of warm and daylight white -it seems to have more blue in it. Plus, the Area 51 has lenses on the diodes that focus the light more. The Nextlight spreads the light more. So, even though the Nextlight has a higher wattage, the plants look "duller" under it than they do under the Area 51. The light is dispersed differently. I think both lights work very well. Eventually, though, I'd like to add a second Nextlight and use the Area 51 for something else.
